Call for Fusion template ideas!

Attention all Fusion users! Do you have an idea for a Fusion template that you’d like to see added to our library? We’ll pick a few customer-submitted ideas and create them for you! While we’d love to, we can’t create all of them. Workfront to Workfront/Adobe automations will be prioritized, but don't let that stop you from sharing your idea. All ideas are welcome and we're excited to see what you come up with!

If you don’t already know, public Fusion templates are pre-built automations or integrations that Adobe creates for all customers to use. Read more about how they work and what templates are available.

Post your idea as a reply to this Discussion and feel free to up-like any other submitted ideas.

All things related to the Administration of Workfront.

  • Auto deactivate users or downgrade access levels after x time of not logging in or performing actions necessary for the license type
  • Closing out old timesheets that are open or deleting timesheets without hours logged. AND making sure users don't get notified of those actions.
  • Archiving teams, templates, boards that haven't been used in x amount of time
  • Auto-assign layout templates to users based on licenses/access levels
  • Integration for exchange rates to auto-update
  • Auto-assign users to resource pools that are applied at the project level to ensure the accuracy of data in the resource planner and not add more onto the plates of project managers' work.

Is there one of these you would prioritize over the others @KellieGardner ?  Any chance you could priority order this list?

Updated in order.

  1. Closing out old timesheets that are open or deleting timesheets without hours logged. AND making sure users don't get notified of those actions.
  2. Archiving teams, templates, boards that haven't been used in x amount of time
  3. Auto deactivate users or downgrade access levels after x time of not logging in or performing actions necessary for the license type
  4. Auto-assign layout templates to users based on licenses/access levels
  5. Auto-assign users to resource pools that are applied at the project level to ensure the accuracy of data in the resource planner and not add more onto the plates of project managers' work.
  6. Integration for exchange rates to auto-update

I know we're able to customize the existing 'Workfront - Convert approved issue to project' template, however, I think another one allowing an issue to create multiple projects (based on a field) and create a new program to store the projects would be nice to have as well.

Abi,

We will cover this exact topic in Lab 815 at Summit if you are attending!

The initial session was fully booked so we set up an additional session for Thursday.

We'll also consider that as an additional template as the first one is the most popular currently.

Thank you!

@Sri_Nijs note my comment above as this applies to your reply as well.  Hope to see you there.

I would love one that can add/remove an approver or reviewer to a proof that falls under a specific proof stage. We often get requests to change reviewers on a bulk number of proofs.

Create a request to create a new Portfolio and Fusion creates the Portfolio and closes the request, alerting certain users of the new portfolio being created

Swap a user on all WF objects (tasks, projects, requests, proofs).
Example, A user is being deactivated with all existing (and/or old) work transitioned to new user.

 - Automatic task assignments for a project by Role

 - Assign Project templates based on the field values

 - Send survey forms/links to Stakeholders/user for any feedback

Lock and close out all proofs on a project once it Closes or after a certain amount of time of inactivity.

A good template would be if a Project status could update automatically from 'Planning' to 'Current' once the first task is made 100% complete.

1. Auto recalculation of expressions in custom fields.

2. Preferred name - this worked until a recent change was made.

(In reality both of these should be features in the product, but failing that we need a way to automate them.)

3. We need to be able to trigger based on decisions, both a decision requested, and the number of decisions made. This doesn't appear in the API at all.

Creating multiple projects from a single request.

A Fusion Template to help with Access Requests would be awesome!

  • We get numerous SME request and only a handfull of fields are on the abbreviated User intake - see image.
  • Would like to have a configured SME intake that sets, key fields, Company, Layout, Home Group, Timezone, Timesheet, Job Role,

Also would be great it scenario watched Proof for users entered by Email only that don't have a WF User and flagged those for Admin so we could properly enter them as SMEs. We have tried to share best practices for proofs but users copy/paste emails and we get duplicate users in the system with an email for first name. Would be great if Fusion could stop this action and prompt a User access intake to happen...

Thanks,

Templates for advanced looping and iterating through bundles would be nice as guidelines for much larger implications. Some examples are wait / retry http request, summation of bundles, and other advanced ways of looping through bundles / arrays.

  • Adding of Template Tasks once a certain task has been completed or task approval made, allowing for different directions of the project based on previous actions.
  • Move files to AEM once loaded to a certain folder in the project.

This would be great to help with iterations within the waterfall project lifecycle, which is a gap in functionality for some clients. Especially those that have strict compliance standards to follow.
