Adobe Workfront

I would find a great deal of value in a webinar/Q&A session with Adobe Product Managers tailored to understanding the pivot from the standard Proofing experience to the Unified Approvals experience. Seems to be a wide range of considerations and no hard deadlines on some required changes, but documentation seems “thin” and some of these changes need measurable documentation and process re-training in my organization. There is even documentation on how to use Unified Approvals and Proofing together https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/review-and-approve-work/document-reviews-and-approvals/manage-asset-review-and-approval/doc-approvals-and-proofing but not much that speaks to when existing Proofing functionality would be phased out completely. Can this type of information event be prioritized by the Workfront team? 

Hello,  Is there a way to sort my proof approvals in my homepage from newest to oldest? Right now, when I login, the default is it shows the oldest ones first. Thank you! 

Does anyone know of a good method to audit all custom Statuses?  We have a large amount of groups that each use different status lists.  Is there any way to export this data so it can be reviewed and updated?

Hi there,I’ve been a WF admin and in the tool for 8+ years. I’m no longer an admin, but am using it as a project manager (specifically for creative projects - think outside agencies, waterfall project setup, etc.). I’m finding the UI to be harder and harder to build easy-to-use at-a-glance views on project status (think like Smartsheets or Monday.com level of simplicity and UI). Has anyone built project reports that act as a dashboard that are user friendly, visually intuitive (color coded, etc.), or at least super effective at showing you where a group of projects is at (could be active task, status, etc.), who it’s with, maybe last update, etc.? The “Priorities” feature is definitely moving in the right direction, but it’s not customizable enough in terms of what columns I can include. Thanks in advance!Kate

The Approvals Widget has switched order so the oldest are on page one.We would prefer it go back to the way it was -- newest to oldest.I am an admin and haven't made any purposeful revisions to any setup or layout for this to occur and cannot find a place to change it.Any ideas?

When using the out-of-the box Workfront Proof integration with Adobe Express, you can select a Proof Workflow to use as the Express template for approval.   Express displays the pre-set stages and approvals set in the Proof workflow. However, you must select a Workfront project for the proof to be assigned to.  Can you have a project be predetermined / setup to be selected by default? i.e. have all approvals for a workflow default to “Project A” rather than having the user type and select the project each time. Background / extra context: Marketers are using Express to create creative content. Today they route content created in Express, through express for brand approval. The brand team wants to also be to track these approval requests through Workfront / proof for analytics and tracking. The workflow / proofing integration works! But often these requests are not connected directly to an active Workfront project, so the user would be confused to which project to type/select. Ideally,

Hi team, We are currently working in creating task-based report. Exactly we need the filter if project tasks all don’t have assignments .Example : The project (test) has 4 task, one has assignments in task if assignment is assigned it should not show in report. I need report that only show project where there all task has zero assignments. I need filter to archive this.

As above .. workfront has taken 20 mins to create a proof and still hasn’t done it. How do you cancel the job and start again?

We're currently using a request queue that creates issues by default. Our team then works with tasks, so we end up with both issues and tasks in our projects. This is causing confusion.Ideally, we'd like requests to come in as tasks only — no issues at all. We want to keep things simple and have one object type for the team to work from.I know routing rules can auto-convert issues to tasks, but the original issue still remains. Is there a way to either:Have the request queue create tasks directly, skipping issues entirely?Or is there another approach anyone has found that achieves a "tasks only" experience?

Helo ~ I am trying to add a column to a Proof-centric report that lists the name(s) of people tagged in a proof as a Reviewer. All I can seem to do is list the Approver. Has anyone done that?Thanks,~ Bradley

Can someone explain what a “Root Project” is and how they could be used? I’m working on a report and noticed values for “Root Project” as an option when I add a column. I can’t find any documentation on that value or any fields with that name. None of my projects have any value in any of those fields when I include them in a report. Our large campaigns use a project for concept development. We add a project for each type of deliverable and link them together in a program. It might be valuable to us to name the concept development project as a root project. 

I’m trying to create two external lookup fields that are using the Workfront Planning api to pull data from Planning.  I’ve created my first lookup fine and its pulling my Planning fieldId with the records I want to show users.  The fieldId output from this first field will drive what records a user sees in the second external field.  The Workfront Planning api uses JSON for filtering, which is curly brackets, and the dependency field needs curly brackets around the field you need the dependent output from.  What’s happening is when I try to build the filtering for the 2nd external field to use the output I need, it needs to be written in JSON so the dependency field is put everything in curly bracket if that dependency field, which obviously is not working.  Has anyone worked with Planning api within an external field to get a dependency, coming from another Planning field to work?  Any insight, ideas, or thoughts would be appreciated.

I need to export historical Proofing information from Workfront as a client transitions from a parent company’s version of Workfront to their own.Using an OAuth2 application configured in Workfront, I’m able to access the Workfront API to export project and document information from Workfront, but it appears that the Proofing information only lives within the embedded Proof HQ instance (please correct me if I’m wrong).Since this is not a standalone Workflow Proofing instance, but rather it’s integrated and accessed via Workfront, which uses IMS authentication, I cannot “log in” to the Proof HQ API using a user/password (I have no password in Proof HQ).As such, I’m attempting to authenticate with Proof HQ by calling the https://api.proofhq.com/home/authentication/getsessionid.html SOAP API, but can’t seem to get it to work.  I’ve tried the following SOAP envelope:````<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/

Hi All,I am trying to query / pull the “Project Sharing” settings of a project template via the Workfront API / in Fusion, but can’t figure out how to do this.The accessRules collection includes only the “Template Sharing” settings, but not the “Project Sharing” settings.Does anyone have an idea on how to do it? Or this not supported currently by the (versioned) API?Thank you,Tibor

I am looking for best practices regarding environment promotion, specifically for Project Templates. Based on my experience, and confirmed by Adobe, you cannot edit a Project Template and promote those changes to Production IF any of your changes involve deleting tasks. For example, if, in Production, i have tasks 1-4 on my project template, and then i edit that template in SB to add tasks 5-6 BUT also delete tasks 3-4, upon promotion, my project template in prod will contain tasks 1-6 As a result, we cannot promote any updates to our project templates from SB to Prod without then needing to deactivate the template and making manual updates immediately after. Has anybody else had a similar issue? There are workarounds, but this feels like a serious shortcoming of the WF environment promotion process. Am I approaching this wrong? Any best practices/solutions/workarounds to reduce manual intervention?

Need to have better UI to upload documents currently when drag and doping the documents Its a small black box not very easy to do the upload when adding documents in bulk if go little below the black drop while drag the documents the document opens in a new tab instead of uploading.

Hi! I am getting a lot of conflicting information about marking custom fields in-active once I move them to an Admin section of a request form. My end goal is to make sure all of these old custom fields remain in my historical reporting. By marking them in-active, am I inadvertantly removing them from my historical reporting? I thought in-active was just making sure these custom fields are no longer active. Any guidance or insight is greatly appreciated. I have a huge update next week that I am prepping for! I want to make sure everything is done correctly. :-)  As always, this community rocks. 😁
