Easiest way is to make use of translation=no attribute. Authors can insert the additional attribute as 'translation=no' on the paragraphs that they do not want to translate. The translation vendor needs to be informed and they can do configuration at their end to ignore the text with this attribute. The OOTB machine translation (with trial Microsoft Translation connector) showcase the same behavior. Here are few screenshots and steps that would help in better understanding: Testing with Microsoft Translation : if you define translate=no attribute at paragraph level then it doesn’t translate the complete paragraph. This attribute can be defined at any element and the content inside that element will not be translated. Example : Source Content Translated Content in Spanish
Using Adobe Experience Platform to Convert Subscribers from Free to Paid by Eric Knee Abstract This blog details a single implementation for a publishing customer on Adobe Experience Platform. Not all aspects are guaranteed as general availability. If you need professional guidance on how to proceed, please reach out to Adobe Consulting Services on this topic. “30-day free trial! 7-day trial period! First month free!” As consumers, we are all familiar with this kind of offer when signing up for a subscription service. It is an attractive offer, giving us the chance to try out and assess the value of the product or service before we commit to paying. From the business perspective, the logic is also clear — gain subscribers by postponing the payment barrier and attempt to convince the consumer that the product or service is worth paying for, such that the free subscribers go on to become paid subscribers. When running such a promotion, the key factor to make it successful is the free-
Why is nobody clicking your website? Adobe’s brutally honest new AI can tell you by Fastcompany Abstract I’ve written dozens of stories about Adobe over the years, and not to brag, but I’ve never needed an AI to edit any of them. But today, the company is debuting its latest Sneak, or a tease of a new tool to come. It’s called Project Catchy Content, and it’s an AI that can analyze online content, from the photography to the written tone, and tell you if people will engage with it or not—and why. Project Catchy Content promises to analyze blog posts and store listings, suggesting everything from better colors to tweaked copywriting, in order to get the best possible response from your audience. Put differently, Adobe isn’t content with helping you make your website pretty anymore. It wants to help ensure that the design is effective too. As Steve Hammond, a VP of Adobe Experience Cloud who leads the Sneaks program, explains, the work stems from years of Adobe’s AI research. The co

AEM - Install Adobe Experience Manager desktop app by Adobe Docs Abstract Using the Adobe Experience Manager desktop app, the assets within Experience Manager are easily available on your local desktop and can be used in any native desktop applications. Assets can be previewed, opened in native desktop applications, revealed in Mac Finder or Windows Explorer for placing in other documents, and changed locally – the changes are saved back to Experience Manager when you upload and a new version is created in the repository. Such an integration allows various roles in the organization to, 1. Manage the assets centrally in Experience Manager Assets. 2. Access the assets in any native desktop applications, including third-party applications and in Adobe Creative Cloud. While doing so, users can easily adhere to the various standards including branding. Understand Java API Best Practices by Adobe Docs Abstract Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is built on a rich open-source software stack that exposes many Java APIs for use during development. This article explores the major APIs and when and why they should be used. AEM is built on 4 primary Java API sets. 1. Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) 2. Product abstractions such as pages, assets, workflows, etc. Apache Sling Web Framework 3. REST and resource-based abstractions such as resources, value maps, and HTTP requests. JCR (Apache Jackrabbit Oak) 4. Data and content abstractions such as node, properties and sessions. OSGi (Apache Felix) OSGi application container abstractions such as services and (OSGi) components. AEM APIs AEM API JavaDocs AEM APIs provide abstractions and functionality specific to productized use cases. For example, AEM’s PageManager and Page APIs provide abstractions for cq:Page nodes in AEM that represent web pages. While these nodes are available via Sling AP
Set up a Local AEM Development Environment by Adobe Docs Abstract Guide to setting up a local development for Adobe Experience Manager, AEM. Covers important topics of local installation, Apache Maven, integrated development environments and debugging/troubleshooting. Development with Eclipse IDE, CRXDE Lite, Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ are discussed. Overview Setting up a local development environment is the first step when developing for Adobe Experience Manager or AEM. Take the time to set up a quality development environment to increase your productivity and write better code, faster. We can break an AEM local development environment into 4 areas: 1. Local AEM instances 2. Apache Maven project 3. Integrated Development Environments (IDE) 4. Troubleshooting Install local AEM Instances When we refer to a local AEM instance, we are talking about a copy of Adobe Experience Manager that is running on a developer’s personal machine. AN OVERVIEW ON ACS AEM COMMONS by Aemcorner Abstract ACS (Adobe Consulting Services) AEM Commons is an open-source library of pre-built AEM tools and functionalities that can help editors and developers to perform different operations on AEM servers, from deployment to cache management. Operations done with ACS Commons can often be performed in other ways, however there are some advantages in using ACS Commons tools. For example a lot of operations can be done by simply going in the right ACS Commons page and set the needed configurations. ACS Commons come in one package that can be installed on the AEM server in two ways: 1. embedding ACS Commons in the AEM project as a Maven dependency, 2. manually deploying the ACS Commons package with package manager. The package contains all ACS Commons tools, so it’s not possibile to install only the needed features. Top CEOs Share How Customer Experience Starts With Culture by Forbes Abstract When Jeff Bezos started Amazon -- originally called Cadabra -- he announced, “Our goal is to be earth’s most customer-centric company.” Today Jeff Bezos calls it "customer obsession." As I explored why customer focus is the primary driver of many of the world’s most successful companies, I was thinking about conversations I had over the past year with CEOs who through customer-centric models are leading their industries. What I found is the key to a world-class customer experience really starts with your own culture. Below are direct quotes from 10 CEOs whose companies are leaders of service in their industry. Digital Transformation Is About Talent, Not Technology by Harvard Business Review Home Abstract As The Economist recently noted, one of the most obvious consequences of the current Covid-19 pandemic will be “the infusion of data-enabled services into ever more aspects of life.” We expect digital transformation to be an even bigger imperative for organizations in the short-term future. Contrary to popular belief, digital transformation is less about technology and more about people. You can pretty much buy any technology, but your ability to adapt to an even more digital future depends on developing the next generation of skills, closing the gap between talent supply and demand, and future-proofing your own and others’ potential. As it turns out, most of us end up in jobs and careers for serendipitous reasons, and stay in them for a long time, rarely pausing to rethink our potential: Am I in the right job? Is my career the best fit for by interests and abilities? Would I enjoy my lif

AEM | Adobe Managed Services vs. Self-Hosting AEM – Pros & Cons by TAD REEVES Abstract What is Adobe Managed Services and how is it different from hosting it myself? Let’s get the basics out of the way first. How does Adobe Managed Services (AMS) differ from self-hosting? A simplified diagram of Adobe Managed Services and how you interact with AEM, and what functions you do not have access to. The above is a simplified view of what Adobe Managed Services offers. From an infrastructure perspective, Adobe provides a simplified GUI front-end that allows them to essentially provision and own AWS or Azure accounts (your choice) where your AEM environment will be deployed to, and then they provision and maintain whatever size of AEM environment you are licensed for in your AMS contract. Starting and stopping environments can be done self-service-style via their Cloud Manager web front-end. Technical staff at AMS then handle any platform issues that come up with your environment, and ar

Regarding AEM and SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) Culture by TAD REEVES Abstract A few years back, someone (badly) explained Google’s operations team structure to me, telling me that Google called them “SRE’s” and it meant that developers were on-call, that nobody actually did operations work and their whole world is just developers on developers, and then developers all the way down. As a multi-decade, traditional “ops” guy, I dismissed it as fanciful at the time, though did start to notice companies all over the place start to call their “ops” folk “SRE’s” regardless of whether that changed their job description. I gradually righted my mis-perception of what site reliability engineering is, but only just recently made time to read the O’Reilly Site Reliability Engineering book, thanks in part to the Audible version that I could listen to while on long bike rides. I wanted to share my thoughts on this as it relates to infrastructure for portly and natively cloud-unfriendly CMS imp
