Adobe LiveCycle ES4

Regarding the upgrade to Adobe LiveCycle ES4, and the ability to use LC Forms Manager and LC Mobile Forms. The documentation I found online said to contact you to understand the licensing terms of these new components. It gave an email address, but it was returned undeliverable.

If  Forms Manager and Mobile Forms come bundled with ES4, is there  a separate license in order to use them?  Are they needed in order to create mobile forms for iOS systems?  Is a separate server needed to get mobile forms to work?

We are interested in only creating a PDF interactive form that people can fill out on Adobe Reader, either on their PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or tablet. We do not need to collect the data in a repository, only to receive the PDF back in email form.  Is this possible?

yes with ES4 you should be able to do all of that. it depends on how you plan to distribute the forms to the audience.

via email, through a hosted link, or through the Adobe livecycle mobile app.

For such a simple use case, you would most likely not require the forms manager.

you will need mobile forms, which means essentially the capability to render HTML5 form.

this form should have a submit button, which could send you back just the data XML (containing the fields data).

Such a form, when submitted through mobile or desktop devices, should be able to submit XML data to your webservice, or LC process, which can then merge the data again with your form design and render to save the complete doc as a PDF.
