Hi Team,
We are looking in to the referring domain and referrer report for one of our promotion URL. We would like understand the domain/referrer for that promotion URL. When we refer the referring domain and referrer report we don’t see one of our domain which is the expected domain where we have our banner to reach that promotion page. Therefore, we should get that URL/domain under the promotion for referring domain and referrer report . However, we don’t see that particular URL/domain on those report. But, we could see those referrer pages in previous page report.
Could you help us to understand the scenario happening here? Please let me know for any other information.
Thank you,
Jay.

Dear Jay,
The 'referrer' URL you are saying should have Adobe Analytics Code and link to the same Report Suite. Thus you are getting the 'referrer' URL in the previous page report and not in the 'referrer' report.
Thanks, Arun.
@PratheepArunRajAny suggestion from your side please?

Hi Arun,
However, I am seeing that referrer URL while I debug it. In your mentioned case, I shouldn't see other referrer where adobe analytics is not implemented. But I can see other referrer on the report where AA is not available. Would it be the best approach to provide the previous page (Referrer URL) report with visit metric? Still digging more to find the root cause of this occurrence. Please let me know if any.
Thank you,
Jay.

If your domain has been added as an Internal URL Filter, you will not see this domain in the Referrer / Referring Domain reports. The only place where you can see this domain would be Data Warehouse or Data Feeds.
Hope this helps.

It appears that the referring domain and referrer reports for a specific promotion URL are not showing the expected domain, even though the referrer pages can be seen in the previous page report. Here are some possible reasons for this scenario:
Data Processing Delay: There may be a delay in data processing or availability for the referring domain and referrer reports. It's advisable to check the reports again after some time to see if the expected domain appears.
Cross-Domain Tracking: If the promotion URL and the domain where the banner is located are on different domains, ensure that cross-domain tracking is correctly set up. Cross-domain tracking allows tracking user activity across multiple domains as a single session.
Campaign Tagging: Verify that the promotion URL has the appropriate campaign parameters (e.g., utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) to accurately track the source and medium of the traffic. Proper campaign tagging ensures the reports associate the traffic with the correct referring domain or referrer.
Referrer Exclusion List: Check if any referrer exclusion rules are in place within your analytics configuration. Referrer exclusion rules can exclude certain domains from appearing in the referring domain and referrer reports. Ensure that the expected domain is not excluded by any such rules.
Tracking Implementation Issues: Double-check your tracking implementation for any technical issues or misconfigurations. Verify that the tracking code is correctly installed on the promotion page and that it is capturing the necessary data.
Please review these points to further troubleshoot the issue. If the problem persists or you require additional assistance, provide more details about your analytics setup and the specific URLs involved.
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions or need further clarification!
