Adobe Experience Manager 6.5 vs WordPress - Feature Comparison by hashouttech Abstract For many years WordPress has been the most popular CMS platform for blogs and marketing sites among small and mid-sized companies. Easy to set up, OTB plugins, and excellent community support make it the right choice if your goal is to bring up a site quickly in a cost-effective way. With a growing digital footprint and cross channel customer journey, enterprise marketing teams need to have a tighter and agile cross-channel campaign orchestration. This requires a modern platform that allows marketers to do faster delivery of content and create a cross experience and personalized experience. Adobe AEM is the most popular Web CMS platform that meets all modern enterprise marketing teams’ demands. Limitations of WordPress as an Enterprise CMS? WordPress provides many out of box templates for different types of online experiences. However, these templates are not flexible at all and often require expe
What’s the difference between Content Fragments and Experience Fragments? by one-inside Abstract There are many ways to edit content in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). During the last few years, while some promoted a new publishing concept called ‘headless CMS’, Adobe introduced a few new tricks in AEM to fulfil the needs of the headless community, Content Fragments and Experience Fragments. As they might still be seldomly used and are not self-explanatory, we will explain their differences and give you an idea of how to use them in your next project. Traditionally, most editing of content happens directly in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) on a so-called page that relates more or less 1:1 to a page on a website: you drag and drop images from the DAM onto a page, add components and type (or copy/paste) text. Here's my latest post about the not-so-fun interaction between SAML Authentication and AEM Permissions Sensitive Caching https://www.danklco.com/posts/2021/04/saml-authentication-aem-permissions-sensitive-caching.html?utm_source%3Dsocialshare%26utm_medium%3Dtwitter
AEM version: 6.3.2.0 We are in the middle of making performance optimization on our site, as such we are deferring any and all JS scripts with `defer` attributes to prevent scripts from render-blocking. We are using contexthub so naturally, we see the following script:<script src="/etc/cloudsettings/default/contexthub.kernel.js" type="text/javascript"></script>We want to add the `defer` attribute to that script; looking at the JSP the renders this script: /libs/granite/contexthub/components/contexthub/contexthub.jsp we see that the only option is to overlay that JSP, which is not a great option especially if Adobe makes changes to that JSP in future releases. Here are my questions: Are there any drawbacks to deferring contexthub.kernel.js? I.e. is it render-blocking for a good reason?I see that the contexthub.kernel.js has dependencies on other code like Granite.HTTP.externalize and I see in the codebase that those dependencies are included in a different clientlib. How are
Creative teams tend to have users that are very visually-oriented. Here are some ideas to make Workfront more user-friendly and enticing for the team (even for groups outside of Creative)! Encourage everyone to have a profile pictureEspecially as your user base grows, you’ll start having duplicate names. A picture helps everyone ensure they’re tagging the right person in updates, tasks, etc. A picture can be much easier to identify in a list than rows and rows of the default gray user icon. Putting a face with the work can make a remote work setting feel more personal, too. Their picture doesn’t necessarily have to be their face though, just something unique to them - a pet, an emoji, or even a favorite character works, too. Use color in your views and reportsMake information easier to digest at-a-glance. Is something past due? Turn the box red using conditional formatting. Just be careful not to make everything a color - only call out what’s really important. Below, I'm comparing the
Hi All, We want to use Assets API to only expose Content Fragments as JSON and not allow Create, update and delete operation. What is the best way to block these operation? Add DENY rule in dispatcher filter on POST method for /api/assets path or any other options available? Appreciate inputs. Thanks.
I am working on requirement where I need to pre populate half of the sections with multiple fields and attachments in adaptive form other form data which has already submitted. Since the data model /XSD is similar for both of the forms I am thinking to capture data xml of previous submission and remove elements which are not present in new form. I am able to populate data but facing issue with attachments. I am curious to know if there is any way to retrieve all attachments from previous submission with help of prefill service. Any suggestion to implement this would be really helpful and highly appreciated.

Use Project Masters by Adobe Docs Abstract Project Masters work by defining a set of AEM user groups (owners, editor, and observer) and allowing derived Projects to reference and reuse those centrally defined user groups. This reduces the overall number of user groups required in AEM. Before Project Masters, each project created 3 user groups with the accompanying ACEs to enforce permission-ing, thus 100 projects yielded 300 user groups. Project Masters allows any number of Projects to reuse the same three groups, assuming the shared membership aligns to Business requirements across the project. Using Cascading Metadata in AEM Assets by Adobe Docs Abstract Advanced metadata management allows users to create cascading field rules to form contextual relationships between metadata in AEM Assets. The video below demonstrates new dynamic rules for field requirement, visibility, and contextual choices. The video also details the steps needed for an administrator to apply these rules to a custom metadata schema. Hello there, I have a folder in /conf/sevenup, and I wish to give "everyone group" this resource + all it's children "READ" permission. Programmatically, how can we achieve this?
Hey Everyone, I have a project that has about 20 or so components written in HTL (Sightly) and will need to migrate them to instead be in React. My question is, can I do this incrementally in AEM? As in, can I convert a few components at a time to React while still keeping others as HTL on the same page, or would a migration like this require me to migrate all components to React in one full sweep? I can't seem to find any information on HTL and React being used in conjunction with one another on the same page, so any guidance on how to do a migration like this or confirmation that an incremental approach is not possible would be appreciated. Thanks
Advancing careers has been on my mind lately since I just started a new job as Senior Director of Demand Operations at F5. Having recently gone through the soul searching process to figure out what I want to do when I grow up, I've learned a lot about what career options there are, how to go about figuring out what to do with my career, how to continue to grow in my current position, and what it takes to build a support network of mentors to help guide you through that process. Both Max and myself who co-lead the Silicon Valley Marketo user group have recently landed in new marketing leadership positions. Through both our recent journeys, we have amassed so many great nuggets of information that we want to share with the broader community. As you move up in the food chain into a marketing executive leader, you quickly learn that you will be responsible for things that you have never done before. This means that you have more quest

Make it easy to get the information you need!Dashboards are a great way to showcase multiple reports all on a single page. For example, you might have a team snapshot highlighting upcoming work, overdue tasks, projects at health risk, issues impeding progress and future time off. Or you might have a dashboard designed just for project, task and issue approvals that elevates required actions for assignees to avoid delays. For additional information on adding reports to dashboards or pinning them to your global navigation bar for quick and easy access, click into this blog post.
