If you have any questions or comments, feel free to shoot me a private message! If your database is overloaded with junk and dead leads then it’s likely that your marketing automation platform database is over the size limit. Bad data in your database is a lot like trash, you have to get rid of it! Not only does bad data clog your database and hike up your costs and software subscriptions; it makes your marketing efforts ineffective, costing your organization in more ways than one. In this post, we cover strategy and execution tips to help you get the dirt out of your data and to develop a six-step best practice data retention policy including: Step 1 – Get Rid of Duplicates Step 2 – Eliminate People without Email Addresses Step 3 – Purge Recently Deleted Salesforce Records Step 4 – Delete Disqualif
AEM Instance:AEM 6.5 + SP7 + SP8 + XML Add On v3.8Query:We have a requirement to get the additional attributes (format, topic, chunk) added to the auto generated ditamap (from an uploaded index.html). While I was able to get these to reflect by making changes directly to /etc/fmdita/html2dita/toc2map.xsl. What would be the right approach to override this file? I tried an override at /apps/fmdita/config/html2dita/toc2map_extended.xsl but that didn't quite work.

Hi All, I am using AEM 6.5 instance. I have created custom editable template and experience fragment based on that custom template. I have created test page based on the same editable template and added Experience fragment component. But while adding or configuring that component, I am unable to add or use my created custom Experience fragment. It is not visible when I browsed it through path browser from Experience fragment dialog.Any pointers will be helpful.
I have created adaptive fragment to reuse some panels in AEM Forms but when I am trying to call those fragments using assets which is generally suggested on AEM Forms document but while selected the Adaptive Fragment under assets on left sidebar, it is not loading the adaptive fragment which we create earlier. Can anyone please suggest any solution for this issue? Or please let me know any other way to handle form with around 1000 fields which frequently crashed the pages.
Authors: Aaron Shields and Jody Arthur Adobe Experience Platform has flipped the traditional relational database model upside down with a new model for segmentation that eliminates the trade-off between small, lightweight profiles that are easy to activate and the data-rich, 360-degree view of the customer to make highly accurate decisions even faster. When it comes to making the key decisions to power customer experience, enterprise marketers have struggled for years with the trade-off between speed and accuracy. With big data continually increasing what we know about consumers, the gap between a small, lightweight profile and a holistic, 360-degree view of that consumer grows ever wider. Simply put, the bigger the data, the longer it takes to read through that data for actioning. Now, by turning the traditional relational database model upside down, Adobe Experience Platform has found and patented a new way to eliminate the trade-off allowing real-time decisioning on highly accurate
Authors: Richa Sharma, Manasvi Mahant, and Douglas Paton In this post, we take a look at what data science is. We explore common misconceptions about what is and isn’t data science. And we talk about how it can be used to help solve business problems using Data Science Workspace for Adobe Experience Platform. Data is at the heart of everything we do these days. Every action, decision, and interaction that we make on the internet results in massive amounts of data. When we are able to harness this data, it gives us the ability to make more informed decisions, create products and offers that are backed up by data, and make connections that we’ve never been able to make before. Data science helps us make sense of all this data. It allows us to understand where the data comes from, what it represents, and how it can be processed and recognized faster to derive meaningful insights from the data. These insights would be helpful for companies to make better business decisions and generate hi
Authors: Daniel Marcus and Douglas Paton In this post, we discuss how we analyzed the cost of operating Adobe Experience Platform Pipeline to reduce unnecessary costs. We break down our process for identifying areas where we were overspending. And we look at how we automated the process to help streamline cost governance for Adobe Experience Platform. It wasn’t that long ago that Adobe Experience Platform Pipeline was a modest Kafka implementation that served as a message bus for the marketing cloud. In 2014, that was the case. Pipeline was transmitting about 500 million messages a day and was deployed in five data centers — two in the United States, two in Asia Pacific (APAC), and one in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Six years later, Pipeline is a different beast. It’s still a great low latency message bus, but it’s much more than that. It provides capabilities for developers to do the streaming computation, to analyze, aggregate, transform, and enrich data on the

This user experience-focused team did their best to deliver a more personalized user experience for customers on the Adobe Experience Platform. This blog details a single implementation or customization on Adobe Experience Platform. Not all aspects are guaranteed as general availability. If you need professional guidance on how to proceed, then please reach out to Adobe Consulting Services on this topic. When you log into Adobe Experience Cloud, you are typically met with the same landing page that varies a bit depending on the products you have access to. This makes it easy for novice users to get the hang of setting up their user interface and navigating through it, taking advantage of some of the basic features on the platform. However, as each user gains more knowledge and experience working on Adobe Experience Cloud, they

Authors: Steve Pelhan, Justin Grover, Nate Smith, and Douglas Paton In this post, we talk about the official release of Common Analytics Plugins for Adobe Analytics. This has been made available as an extension through Adobe Experience Platform Launch. With the creation of Adobe Launch, Adobe’s next-generation of tag management capability built into Adobe Experience Cloud platform, Adobe Analytics implementations got easier than ever before. The release of the Common Analytics Plugins Launch extension (developed and supported by Adobe Consulting Services) adds a new dimension to the Adobe Launch capability. For years now, Adobe Analytics has had a series of plugins that help users capture better data and get the most out of Adobe Analytics. But, up until recently, gaining access to the plugins meant talking with Adobe Consulting Services and manually implementing the plugins. Adobe Experience Platform Launch has changed that. Now, with the help of Adobe Experience Platform Launch, Ado

Authors: Atul Shrivastava, Prashant Dahiya, Praveen Kumar Goyal, and Jenny Medeiros This post provides an overview of how we integrated Ad Currency Optimization within Adobe Experience Platform to streamline demographic predictions for anonymous users. This is the first of five exciting applications that resulted from our Adobe Experience Platform India Hackathon. Advertising is being transformed by data and technology, but the lifeblood of successful video targeting remains the same: user demographics. For publishers of TV streaming content, most of their users are anonymous. And without demographic data on their viewers, they can’t deliver relevant advertising to them. These missed targeting opportunities not only submit their viewers to a barrage of irrelevant ads but can also cost the publisher between 40–45% of their ad revenue. Adobe Primetime is a cloud-based platform that helps digital video publishers increase their advertising and subscription revenue. One of its key compone
Authors: Justin Ross, Douglas Paton In this post, we look at how we helped customers move their data out of Adobe Experience Platform for use in other systems. We explore the challenges of working with an international team and how we used a generic solution that could be used by anyone. Users of Adobe Experience Platform produce incredible amounts of data. This data can help them get powerful insights into their customers across all channels. Once they get that data out of Adobe Experience Platform, that data can then be used to make decisions based on the insights gained from the data. The challenge was that, although there are many ways to get into Adobe Experience Platform to generate data, exporting the data to other systems wasn’t nearly as easy. There was not a good way of getting data out of Adobe Experience Platform. We needed to build a way to enable activation, which is the capability of exporting data into other platforms, on Adobe Experience Platform. We needed to come up
Authors: Manoj Thakur, Abhishek Shukla, Atul Shrivastava, Som Satapathy, Anup, Balaji K, Per Andreasen This post describes the experiences and outcomes of an intensive hackathon put on by Adobe Experience Platform India team. Adobe engineers came together to develop five innovative applications that secure better ROI, improve UX and strengthen machine learning. In December 2019, several developers from Adobe Experience Platform’s engineering team in India participated in an intensive internal hackathon. In just one workweek, five new and innovative platform solutions came to life. As developers, we can easily stick to proven routines, especially in times with high workloads. We knew that Adobe Experience Platform needed to be top of mind in our daily work lives as it can take customer experience to the next level and solve problems at scale in real-time. That is why we decided to organize a hackathon for Adobe engineers in India. But we had not dared hope for as much innovation as we
Authors: Keerthika Koteeswaran and Jenny Medeiros This post describes the challenges of data warehouse testing for Adobe Audience Manager and walks through the in-house functional test framework we developed to solve them. As a leading data management platform, Adobe Audience Manager processes billions of real-time and batch events every day. This data is then transformed into comprehensive reports to help marketers deliver custom experiences to the right audience. To ensure the accuracy and reliability that is expected of these reports, we must first verify that the data itself is correct, complete, and in the right format. This is achieved through diligent data warehouse testing. The testing process, however, is largely manual and notoriously difficult due to the tremendous scale of ingested data. As a result, comprehensive testing is practically impossible, which leads to weakened data integrity and a higher risk of bugs slipping into production. To counter these challenges, we dev
Authors: Costin Ochescu, Ciprian Barbieru, Cornel Creanga, and Jenny Medeiros This post describes how we proactively improved the cost and efficiency of data processing within Adobe Experience Platform by redesigning one of its key data processing services: Siphon Stream. Check out Part 2 here. Adobe Experience Platform is home to an increasing number of customers who rely on its ability to process tremendous amounts of data in real-time. To maintain the pace that new and existing customers expect, we set out to proactively improve Siphon Stream, a key component within Adobe Experience Platform that is responsible for much of the streamed data processing. This post details the challenge we faced, thought processes, and subsequent solutions that ultimately tripled our application’s performance and greatly reduced operational costs. What is Siphon Stream? Siphon Stream is a component within Adobe Experience Platform responsible for taking the streaming data sent by Adobe solutions (i.e.

Authors: Rohan Kapoor, Biswajit Chakraborty, and Rameen Taheri In a previous post on Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK, we introduced our all-in-one JavaScript library designed to streamline how customers interact with the various Adobe Experience Cloud services. In this post, we explain how customers can safely transition to the new SDK and how to navigate common migration scenarios. The underlying technology for collecting users’ behavioral data online has evolved tremendously since the time of hit counters and log files. Since the pivotal introduction of JavaScript (JS) tags back in the late 90s, the web analytics industry continues to use them along with other languages to capture clicks and page impressions, track interactive video players, and build native mobile apps. On the front-end, however, customers increasingly expect simpler and more unified digital experiences across web and mobile. To fulfill this expectation, the industry must once again evolve the way it delivers and
