Hey All, So every once and a while uploading an image we get "Process failed". I know how to reprocess and that will fix it, but is there a way I can do a report against the DAM to find all assets that have "Process failed"? Thanks
Hi everyone, After installing the latest AEM service pack, the responsive grid is not working properly, and the content is not aligned properly as it should be. For example, in our STAGE environment, everything is aligned as it should be, but we didn't install the SP there yet. The problem with the responsive grid is that it's not reading the phone and tablet "offset, width" properties, instead, it's just using the default values for all other device types. The default values for this example are offset=3 and width=9, and it's setting the width to 9 on all device types, but it should be 12 for tablets and phones. To be more specific, this is what we are getting currently from the responsive grid: class="aem-Grid aem-Grid--9 aem-Grid--tablet--9 aem-Grid--default--9 aem-Grid--phone--9 " The configuration is the same as in the STAGE environment where we get different class from the responsive grid: class="aem-Grid aem-Grid--9 aem-Grid--tablet--12 aem-Grid--d

Hello Team,As we know i18n translation are part immutable content in AEM as CS. and translations are managed from code repository which restricting us from managing the dictionary directly on AEM cloud instances. But we are thinking to make the managed by content authors just like the way we had in earlier version where we could update the dictionary directly on the AEM instances. Any guide here ? is that right approach if we can move dictionary under conf content folder to manage dictionary as part of mutable content ?

Personalisation key to Coles’ e-commerce plans by Theaustralian Abstract One of the most prominent after-effects of the COVID-19 pandemic for retailers has been the dramatic growth it spurred in online shopping. According to Adobe’s Digital Economy Index, the world saw a 12.5 per cent increase in e-commerce sales across all categories in 2021, with 41.8 per cent of spending driven by electronics, apparel, and groceries. Adobe also found that online sales for groceries in the US alone were expected to reach $US85 billion this year. This is an important trend for the team at Coles Group, who has seen e-commerce transactions grow from 3 per cent of total sales before the pandemic to around 8 per cent today. According to Coles’ chief executive for e-commerce, Ben Hassing, while the volume of e-commerce transactions was growing quickly, so too were customers’ expectations of their online shopping experience. These changes have led Coles to announce a new investment in delivering a more
Cloud enterprise CMS - Benefits of moving to AEM by Shankar krishnan Abstract With the world moving to cloud services, a cloud-based enterprise Content Management System (CMS) is crucial to the smooth performance of daily content tasks and actions. An Enterprise CMS essentially allows the team to manage the entire lifecycle of every piece of content through one shared dashboard. Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a modern, cloud-based platform that allows you to develop, personalize, and publish engaging experiences across channels. AEM is typically used to deploy Adobe Experience Cloud (AEC) content and assets and supports a variety of contexts such as websites, native applications, and mobile applications. Before we deep dive into why you should prefer AEM over WordPress, Let’s look at a few of the disadvantages of WordPress. What does WordPress Lack? WordPress is a popular CMS that has many features that help enterprises set up a CMS system. However, its lackings make it difficul
Why consider using AEM over WordPress for Multi-Site Management? by Shankar krishnan Abstract A centralized content management platform is a crucial element of many businesses’ content strategies today. This is essentially based on the need for curating and managing content in multiple languages for various regions that the business caters to. Adobe Experience Manager Multi-Site Manager (AEM MSM) is one such tool that has been of great use to many businesses today. AEM MSM allows flexibility to companies to create and deploy separate sites for different countries or markets with the same site content or specific content in the regional language. The real purpose of MSM is to manage multiple websites that share common content. it is mainly used for multi-region multi-lingual sites. Thus AEM content management capabilities allow for better management of language copies across these websites. Benefits of using MSM in Adobe Experience Manager Synchronized updates: You can essentially
Integrating Algolia Search for AEM Sites by Shankar krishnan Abstract Algolia with over 10,000 customers as of January 2021 and 30 billion search queries a week, is currently second only to Google. The numbers show clearly the need in the market for a good Site Search solution which was at some point dominated by GSA at the enterprise level followed by many Solr and Elastic-based implementations. At Hashout, we are involved in multiple Algolia implementations and we truly love and recommend Algolia to our customers. As Algolia is rapidly launching capabilities, we being an implementation partner of Algolia are constantly learning and taking them to our enterprise customers. Since we work extensively on the Adobe Experience Manager platform for our customers, there are few things we would like to share from our experience on integrating AEM with Algolia to deliver a site search experience. Algolia at the moment does not provide an official connector between AEM and Algolia. We have b
Automation Testing with Selenium and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) by Viraj Rane Abstract Testing is a crucial stage not only in software development but also in every other industry. The clothes we wear, the food we eat, the toothbrush we use, even in this pandemic time (no pun intended) everything goes through some or other kind of testing to ensure product safety, quality, and our trust in companies. Practically, the number of test cases even for a small piece of code or software could be infinite. Thus, stakeholders and the QA team generally agree upon the cases which are feasible to cover in a given timeline. It is not practically possible to cover a large number of test cases manually. Eventually, teams started to automate the tasks which are repetitive and could be abstracted to run for future developments. This saves time for some complex testing scenarios which are not easy to automate. Also, it gives an assurance to stakeholders that the quality of testing is uniform acro

CRX Cleaner and IntelliVault Plugins for AEM by Sgaemsolutions Abstract I have always been fond of plugins and tools which makes my life easier. In this blog, I will talk about two of my favorite plugins in IntellijIdea which makes my AEM development easier: CRX Cleaner and IntelliVault. . CRX Cleaner: Recently a new plugin has been added in my development life which is CRX Cleaner. This is an IntellijIdea Plugin and absolutely free. Use Case: In AEM, while syncing the content, the syncing of workflows, templates, policies or sometimes pages also need to be done from AEM to the codebase repository. While syncing via packages/ plugin, it pulls all the unwanted properties like jcr:modifiedBy, jcr:modifiedDate, jcr:createdBy etc in the code base and makes git pushes really messy. Before this plugin, either I just avoided these properties and pushed the code having these properties or I used to clean up by myself one by one which was a super tedious task. I installed this plugin i
How we built a blog platform with AEM by Ruolan Ji Abstract Blog platforms are ubiquitous today as a crucial part of many organizations’ marketing strategies. Since blogs house a variety of original and sponsored content over time and help to build your brand equity, it’s important to structure them in a way that is aligned with your business goals. Luckily, there are tools like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) that can help you build, integrate, and maintain your blog platform with efficiency and ease. What functionalities do we need in a blog platform? Blog platforms should offer hosts the ability to publish and edit articles, as well as placing ads on the platform. General users should also be able to navigate the blog, search its content, view author profiles and information, comment on and share articles to social media, and sign up for a newsletter to receive regular updates. Why build a blog platform? Blog platforms can provide your business with valuable revenue generation opp
Being paranoid about encoding — URL encoding, HTML encoding, UTF-8 encoding, any encoding — helps avoid uncomfortable post-mortems. But here’s one type of apparent encoding bug that’s actually a false alarm. Been working with a client on a complex Marketo form localization project, where pretty much everything — from labels to placeholders to error messages to dropdown options — is translated according to the person’s selected language. There’s only one form defined in Marketo, with a separate translations file (a JS file to be hosted on their CDN) for each language. I provided download links to the client, but they wrote back with alarm: “When we open those URLs, we don’t see Chinese characters. The file encoding must be wrong.” But nothing was actually wrong! They were just, without realizing it, looking at the the files in a context that the real world doesn’t use. You see, they were just opening https://assets

Interesting thread over in the Products discussion area, where user DN asked: I am trying to create an unsubscribe form that has various values for the reason someone is unsubscribing. For example: “I no longer want to receive these emails,” “The emails are too frequent,” “I never signed up for this mailing list,” and “The emails are inappropriate.”Is there any way I can randomize the order the above values appear for each new user so that people do not just choose the first option? Thanks! Here’s the form in question: Note it also has an “Other” option, which (as I suspected) DN wants to keep at the bottom, not shuffle. When “Other” is checked, there’s a a Visibility Rule that reveals a textbox for Unsubscribed Other Reason, so we need to make sure that functionality is intact. The code, Take 1 It’s easy to randomly shuffle DOM child elements, as long as you know how the markup is structured (which we definitely do with Ma
