Adobe Experience Manager Assets

Hi,In the image properties, we have the Review Status (dam:status) and Approval Target (dam:activationTarget) fields. When I set:Review Status = Approved Approval Target = Deliverythe image becomes available in the Delivery tier as expected. However, when I change:Review Status = Rejected Approval Target = Content Hubthe image is no longer available in the Delivery tier. This is not the expected behavior. The image should be rejected only for Content Hub and should remain available in the Delivery tier.Has anyone encountered this issue before? If so, could you please share the resolution or any configuration changes required to achieve the expected behavior? Thanks,Salma

The August 2026 AEM as a Cloud Service release (2026.8.0) had a lot for Assets teams. Several of the more interesting items are Beta or Limited Availability, so each one below carries its status.Listed under main release sections (no Beta or LA label on the page)1. C2PA metadata on renditions (Assets, and Dynamic Media with OpenAPI and Scene7). Renditions now carry C2PA metadata based on the original asset. It records the asset's origin, edit history, and whether generative AI was used. Two JCR properties are added: dam:hasC2PAManifest and dam:isAiGenerated. Adobe says customers should validate regulatory compliance themselves, and advises against relying on the manual Gen AI label where C2PA is available. If you publish AI-generated imagery, this is worth testing now. It isn't a compliance guarantee.2. Assets Insights moves to the Analytics 2.0 API (action required). Assets Insights now uses the Adobe Analytics 2.0 API with OAuth Server-to-Server authentication. You must reconfigure

Hi All,I just wanted to confirm is there any upper limit w.r.t size when we are moving data with AEM Bulk Import tool. I think there is no limit and we can move TB’s of data in one run but still wanted to confirm.

For certain use cases we have been using DMWOAPI links. One of these was adding them to the product information in google merchant center. It seems that Google is unable to retrieve these links and gives an error message. We had to swap the DM links to normal published DAM links from our domain. Is that the ootb way DMWOAPI should work? I saw somewhere that creating a custom domain for the DM links would be a solution, however that would mean manually replacing all our existing links. If anyone faced a similar issue and has other ideas, I would really appreciate. Thanks!

I am from AEM Dynamic Media team and I help customers get more measurable value from Dynamic Media: faster experiences, assets that work harder across channels, and a clearer view of what happens after content goes live. One simple self-service report has become especially useful in those conversations. It is the Dynamic Media delivery report. If you use AEM as a Cloud Service with a Dynamic Media license, you can generate and download the report yourself. The visibility gap of asset activationWe often hear customers say that once an asset leaves the DAM, visibility becomes fragmented. We know what we created and published, but we do not always know which assets are receiving the most delivery, which channels are consuming them, or how that consumption varies across markets. The Dynamic Media delivery report helps reconnect that last mile.To keep this conversation practical, I stepped into the shoes of a growth marketer at a fictional fashion retailer, “Luma Retail”. I used one month o

I uploaded a PDF to AEM Assets with Dynamic Media enabled. A thumbnail is automatically generated, but the crop doesn't look good. I uploaded a custom image rendition in the required dimensions, however AEM continues to display the Dynamic Media-generated thumbnail instead of the custom rendition. How can I configure AEM/Dynamic Media to use my custom thumbnail image for the PDF asset and override the default generated thumbnail?

We have an external system that needs to periodically access AEM Assets metadata multiple times per day. It’s only for assets matching certain pre-defined criteria (specific metadata values and folder structure) What's the recommended approach for this use case? Are there specific APIs, connectors, or export you'd recommend?

AEM Assets Content Hub serves as a centralised distribution hub for brand assets across marketing teams, agencies, and partners. It delivers fast search, curated collections, and governed asset delivery at scale. This blog explores how Content Hub’s extensibility model, powered by Adobe App Builder, enables organisations to embed custom workflows directly into the asset distribution experience. We’ll outline the business challenges and explain how extensibility works. Business Problem: Last-Mile Workflows in Content Hub For many organisations, Content Hub has become the go‑to portal for accessing brand assets across internal teams and external partners. While it excels at asset discovery and delivery, the “last mile” of work often happens outside the platform. Once an asset is found or downloaded, critical follow-up actions typically occur in disconnected systems, such as:  Task and ticket creation in project management or IT systems  Approvals in separate review tools  Rights and us

Does it bother anyone else how the versions are labeled in AEM? I have no idea which one is which. Instead of v1, v2, v3, etc they keep appearing as New Version 1.0, New Version 1.1, New Version 1.0.0. What on earth do any of those mean? Cant these be listed as Original, Version 2, Version 3, etc. and then show the date. they were uploaded and by whom? That is how the average human brain would read these things. Is that a setting I can change or is this the standard operating procedure of the system?

Hello Community,We're looking for suggestions and lessons learned from anyone who has performed metadata updates at a very large scale in AEM 6.5 On-Prem Assets. Our RequirementAEM 6.5 On-Prem ~5 Million Assets (50 Lakhs) Repository Size: ~40 TB Need to update ~20 metadata properties on existing assets The update source will come from a mapping/reference file Important: The requirement is to append/update metadata values without overwriting existing values. Existing metadata must be preserved wherever applicable.

Hi team, I am trying to configure permissions for a user so that they have create access but not delete access. I have granted the following privileges: - jcr:versionManagement- jcr:modifyProperties- jcr:read- jcr:addChildNodes- crx:replicate- jcr:lockManagement- jcr:nodeTypeManagement With these permissions, the Create button appears and works as expected in Admin View. However, the same permissions do not work in Assets View — the user is unable to create assets there. Note: If I replace the above privileges with jcr:all, it works correctly in both Admin View and Assets View. However, jcr:all also grants delete access, which I need to avoid. Could you please advise which additional privileges (or paths) are required for create functionality to work in Assets View without granting delete permissions? Thanks,Asmit

Video is central to how organisations engage their audiences—personalised, accessible, and consistent across devices, channels, and regions. Adobe Experience Manager gives teams two ways to power those experiences: the proven Dynamic Media (Scene7) platform that thousands of organisations rely on every day, and Dynamic Media with OpenAPI, our API-first architecture for teams who want lightweight integrations and composable, developer-friendly workflows. Both are first-class parts of the Dynamic Media family, and we continue to invest in both. Which one a team chooses should come down to the architecture and integration model that fits them best—not a trade-off in what their content can do.That’s why this milestone matters. Over the past year, we’ve been bringing the rich video capabilities customers trust in Dynamic Media to the OpenAPI architecture. Today, we’re excited to share that core enterprise video capabilities have reached feature parity on Dynamic Media with OpenAPI.Rich Video

In this post, I walk through a generic Proof of Concept (POC) for extending the AEM Assets user interface using Adobe App Builder. The goal is to demonstrate how you can build a custom Assets View UI Extension and integrate it with AEM Assets to provide a more tailored user experience.🔹 What you'll learn:• How AEM Assets UI Extensions work• Setting up a simple App Builder project• Creating a custom Assets View experience• Connecting the extension with AEM Assets• Understanding the overall extension architecture• Key considerations for building a production-ready solutionThis POC can serve as a starting point for organizations looking to build custom asset views, specialized DAM workflows, or tailored authoring experiences on top of AEM Assets.📖 Read the complete tutorial: https://www.aemcq5tutorials.com/tutorials/building-simple-aem-assets-view-ui-extension-adobe-app-builder-generic-poc/

The Vision:In current digital campaigns, optimizing content in specific sizes and formats for each platform (Web, App, Social Media) is time-consuming. We envision an intelligent workflow that automatically handles platform-specific rendering and synchronizes real-time performance analytics, all derived from a single master asset.Key Features:Context-Aware Auto Resizing: Adapting content to various device aspect ratios while preserving the focal point and text-safe zones.Dynamic Micro-Copy Suggestions: Generating headline variations on-the-fly by analyzing target audience and platform data.Closed-Loop Feedback: Automatically providing recommendations to optimize underperforming creatives by leveraging direct performance data from Adobe Analytics.Impact:This will reduce the time spent on routine tasks by at least 40% for designers and marketers, while significantly accelerating the speed of campaign launches.

We have approximately 10,000 assets that were migrated to AEM Assets as a Cloud Service. We now need to bulk update metadata on these existing assets, including metadata required to make the assets available in Content Hub.We are evaluating the best approach for performing this update at this scale. One option we are considering is CSV Metadata Import. However, the Adobe documentation mentions a maximum batch size of 100 assets for metadata import. We would like to understand whether this is only the internal processing batch size or whether there is a recommended/maximum number of asset rows that should be included in a single CSV import. For this use case, what would be the recommended  approach for updating metadata on ~10,000 existing assets? Any guidance or experience with similar large-scale metadata updates would be appreciated.

Am I able to bulk remove a property from a field. Heres an example use case:I have an expiration date set for 75 assets. Licensing has been reworked to give us universal rights in perpetuity so we no longer need an expiration for those. Am I able to select all 75 assets and remove the expiration date or do I have to do that 1 by 1?
