Question

Approve/Reject Assets for Delivery and Contenthub

Hi,

In the image properties, we have the Review Status (dam:status) and Approval Target (dam:activationTarget) fields.

When I set:

  • Review Status = Approved
  • Approval Target = Delivery

the image becomes available in the Delivery tier as expected.

However, when I change:

  • Review Status = Rejected
  • Approval Target = Content Hub

the image is no longer available in the Delivery tier. This is not the expected behavior. The image should be rejected only for Content Hub and should remain available in the Delivery tier.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? If so, could you please share the resolution or any configuration changes required to achieve the expected behavior?

Thanks,

Salma

Hi @SalmaSh3
This behavior is expected in AEM Assets. The dam:status property is a global approval status and is not specific to Content Hub. Therefore, setting the asset to Rejected—even when the approval target is Content Hub—also makes the asset unavailable through the Delivery tier.

To keep the asset available in Delivery, use:

Status: Approved
Approval Target: Delivery

If the requirement is to make the asset available in Delivery but not visible in Content Hub, an administrator can disable:

Content Hub -> Product Settings -> Configurations ->Asset Visibility ->Allow users to view assets approved for delivery

Please note that this is an instance-wide Content Hub setting, not a per-asset setting. A native configuration for "Approved for Delivery but Rejected only for Content Hub" is currently not supported.
