I have a brand new AEM OSGI instance on Windows. I upgraded to 6.5.13. I have created a simple workflow with 1 step - No operation. No variables.I have created a simple Adaptive form using the blank template. Added a text box and a Submit button.I configured the form container to submit to an AEM Workflow and Previewed the form. It submits perfectly.I created a Forms Application - I chose the Adaptive Form, The workflow, Assigned forms-users, and Relative to Payload - data.xml. Everything else is default.I got to my Inbox (as admin), create application, choose my application. I see the form, I type some text and I click submit.I receive an error in the UI, AEM-FD-011-003 - Error occurred while submitting draft. No errors in log. I have not increased logging. I will try that now.

As describe on Adobe's page at Here AEM provides an OOTB asset selector which includes image previews which is not present in standard pathbrowser. In the page above it also says that you can use the picker from a granite dialog:http://localhost:4502/aem/assetpicker.html?dialog=true — Use these parameters to open the asset selector as Granite Dialog. This option is only applicable when you launch the asset selector through Granite Path Field, and configure it as pickerSrc URL.I tried the following code in the dialog XML:<pathfield jcr:primaryType="nt:unstructured" sling:resourceType="granite/ui/components/coral/foundation/form/pathfield" name="./fileReference" pickerSrc="/aem/assetpicker.html?dialog=true" rootPath="/content/dam/"/>The pathfield above does not seem to use the alternative picker specified with pickerSrcand not working at all. Also tried adding the extra URL parameters as specified in the PathfieldDoc .<pathfield jcr:primaryType="nt:unstructured" sli
Hello, I'm trying to allow authors to drag multiple layout containers onto a page and allow each one to have a customizable grid size. We've been using editable templates so far but from what i'm seeing with testing/reading in the documentation it doesn't sound like that's possible unless we use static templates so design mode can be enabled. Is that correct or am I missing something? https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-65/administering/operations/configuring-responsive-layout.html#configure-the-grid-of-the-layout-container Thanks
I have the situation where want to add an Experience Fragment (having button component) to under image component without authoring/editing and roll out all pages. These pages following same template.

Hi,I have a maven dependency<dependency> <groupId>org.apache.hive</groupId> <artifactId>hive-jdbc</artifactId> <version>2.1.1</version></dependency>The jar and its dependencies don't have any OSGi bundle definition like symbolic bundle name under the manifest file. How do I convert it into OSGi bundle so that the jar and its dependencies can be successfully installed into AEM.
Is there a way to test if listChildren will return anything? Something along the line of: <sly data-sly-test=${item.listChildren.size > 0} />
Hey fellows, I have the following requirement to do, and I'm trying to find a easy method to solve it ( want to avoid boring, repetitive work) :imagine that there are 100 components already created and for each component you need to have Style System options : Apply Padding and Remove Padding. Now, in order to avoid implementing for each component policy this options, is there a way to have inheritance from, let's say, a base policy component ? Let me know what you think.

The AEM Developer and Business User Relationship by Kevin Nennig Abstract Empower the business user while driving development in parallel. Let’s start with a story: Your business has requirements for a new website. Your business hires an external vendor to ‘reimagine’ the website. This new website wireframe/blueprint/skeleton structure is handed off to the development team to create the website. The marketing team (business users) submit and supply the content that needs to be on each page. The marketing team reviews the website and approves the release. Development team leads the go-live. Months later, there are updates that are needed to the website and the marketing team needs to submit a ticket to IT to get the site updated. The update needs to fit into a development sprint and development resources need to be allocated and justified to prioritize the update. 1–2 months later the page updates have been approved and are now live on your website. Does this story sound too familia
AEM Clientlib Minification issue and how to debug- by Debal Das Abstract We all know that minification allows us to reduce the size of the files being requested. We also know that AEM provides an OOTB OSGi configuration to enable minification on the instances which in time will reduce the size of the Javascript (JS)/CSS files being requested, improving the loading time of the pages. But many times minification didn’t work despite being this AEM OOTB OSGi configuration enabled on AEM clientlibs. Personally I had encountered this issue and even I have seen several posts specially with ECMASCRIPT6 minification isn’t working or clientlib isn’t getting minified. Now I will talk about how can we debug this issue here. Approach:1 Like any other issue we always start the debug with log file so, no exception in this case also. We need to check error.log file of the relevant AEM instance and then search with the file name like clientlib.min.js or clientlib.js Please don’t get confused w
How to read non transient workflow instances via custom AEM JMX console by Debal Das Abstract In AEM , JMX allows us to manage our application at runtime. Although AEM provides a rich set of out of the box MBeans, we also create our own MBeans and when it is required. Here I am going to discuss one simple use case associated with how could we create our MBean and how to leverage this MBean to read the AEM data. Let’s talk about use case first - I want to read some data like Status, Workflow instance start time and end time, payload path of each instance of a specific non transient workflow model. Once we enter the specific non transient workflow model id and in return we will be getting following fields Status, Workflow instance start time and end time, payload path in JSON response. Have you ever had this series of conversations? I’m certain that many of us have. Marketo Account Executive: You are 1,000 licenses over compliance with Marketo Sales Insights. Let’s either set a deadline for you to get your instance under compliance or I’ll need to send you an invoice for the overage. (as an aside, our AE has been really patient and helpful to us during this process) You: YIKES! That’s a lot. Let me go to my Salesforce admin and get this fixed. Marketo Account Executive: Cool. Let’s get this resolved either way in 30 days. (When you check MSI in the Marketo Admin section, you find that the overage for the last 30 days is even higher than your AE informed you. You consider joining the Peace Corps, but instead, you get a meeting with your Salesforce admin team) You: Hello. We need to clean up our MSI user count in Salesforce. Salesforce Admin (wh

How many ‘AEM Page Templates and Components’ a project should have? by Sachin Mali Abstract This is an open-ended question and somewhat hard to give a very definitive or precise answer and most of the time one might start with ‘It depends!!’. However frequently this pops up in the various meetings with varying audiences and an answer or explanation might or might not satisfy the audiences. Here is my attempt at it Lets Review Basics An AEM Component is a piece of UI and two or more components arrangement creates a web page. Web pages can have distinct layouts and these layouts are created by arranging components in different order and/ or numbers. Templates are used to predefine the layout structures for a webpage and ultimately create web pages from them. Read Full Blog How many ‘AEM Page Templates and Components’ a project should have? Reusing Authored Content Effectively with Contextual Content Variables for Adobe Experience Manager by bounteous Abstract Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) provides non-technical users with a lot of power and flexibility when creating content as well as supplying tools for significant content reuse, like Content Fragments, but there are still situations in which developers need to be brought in to handle specific requirements. One of those cases is when content needs to be authored on a specific page but also surface values that are authored elsewhere in AEM. Bounteous is always looking for ways to enable our partners using AEM to be self-sufficient and empowered in their authoring environment and so Contextual Content Variables, a newly released feature in Adobe Consulting Services (ACS) AEM Commons, seeks to solve this need for direct developer intervention when trying to surface a contextual variable inside authored content. Contextual Content Variables This new feature allows autho

Granite UI Multifield Maximum Items Validation by Sourcedcode Abstract For almost all cases of AEM implementations, adding validation for maximum items for the Granite UI Multifield is a must. In this article, we will put together a script that will register a new validator (foundation.validation.validator) to the foundation-registry (the foundation-registry is used in the Granite UI framework). In this solution, we will be utilizing the jQuery Validation library (the validation library used by Granite UI is achieved by using the jQuery Validation plugin). We must register a client library specifically targeting the author, which is specific to customizing page authoring, which will inject JavaScript into the context of the page and execute the registry and scripts. After the installation of this validation code, you should be able to just include two additional properties to the multifield Granite UI component, and it should be validating as expected: Two fields: granite:class=”gra
What’s the maximum size of a node in JCR/AEM? by Jörg Hoh Abstract An interesting question which comes up every now and then is: “Is there a limit how large a JCR node can get?”. And as always in IT, the answer is not that simple. In this post I will answer that question and also outline why this limit is hardly a constraint in AEM development. Also I will show ways how you can design your application so that this limit is not a problem at all. (Allow me a personal note here: For me the most interesting part of that question is the motivation behind it. When this question I asked I typically have the impression that the folks know that they are a bit off-limit here, because this is a topic which is discussed very rarely (if at all). That means they know that they (plan to) do something which violates some good practices. And for that reason they request re-assurance. For me this always leaves the question: Why do they do it then?? Because when you follow the recommended ways and con
