Change status on issue

One of my colleagues had accidentally marked the status of a resolving object (project) as Complete and this marked the issue as Closed. He then changed the status of the resolving object (project) back to Current. Is there any way to change the issue status back to In progress or is there any kind of workaround?

I would imagine with the proper access you should be able to open the issue from the Issue tab, select edit issue from the top right hand corner of the screen or directly from the same page on the right hand side under Assignment and change status to In Progress.

I just had to do this earlier this week. Go to Issue Details -> Overview tab, click edit, scroll down to 'Resolved By' and select 'Select Resolving Object' and save. Go back and edit again, and change the status to in progress and change 'Resolved By' back to what it was before so it's connected to the converted object.
