H1 2025: Workfront Community Ideas Update

Hello Workfront Community,

I can’t believe it’s already June! Time has flown by since our last review, but I wanted to update you all on our H1 2025 Community Ideas review. As you may recall, this effort is part of our bi-annual ideas review process, which involves our product team as they review and respond to the top 20 ideas from the past 2 years. Please note that this 2-year period includes ideas from our last review cycle in November 2024. Ideas from our last review cycle are listed in the second chart below, labelled ‘H2 2024 Carryover Ideas.’ Many of you may have already been notified of these idea updates if you’ve interacted with them previously, but I wanted to consolidate all product responses into a single page.

A couple things to keep in mind:

All reviewed ideas below were published in the past 2 years.
Ideas responded to in this cycle will be updated periodically by the PM Owner until they are moved to a 'final’ stage, either Delivered, Archived, or Declined.
- We’ve put this requirement in place to ensure regular updates from the product team and offer a glimpse into our implementation process.
This latest cycle saw 31 ideas responded to, with 7 net new ideas and 24 rolling over from the last period
- 19 ideas were updated to a different stage
- 6 ideas were moved to a commit stage (Accepted or Delivered), with 3 moving to Accepted and 3 moving to Delivered
- 4 ideas were moved to the Decline stage
Ideas in the ‘H2 2024 Carryover Ideas with a green or red color indicate a stage change. Green indicates the idea moved towards a commit stage and red indicates the idea moved back a stage or was declined. All stage changes will include a reason for the update.

Announcements like this will be posted roughly twice a year, depending on our product team’s bandwidth and roadmap capacity.

Hi @jon_chen, is the "Reporting on Boards and Admin View Access" Idea really delivered? I don't see the proposed solution in my environment, and didn't see it in the Q2 or Q3 notes. CCing CBuckwal who also commented the same thing on the original thread.

I'm excited to use the freeze frame in the Workfront reporting and reporting on boards. Our teams are really liking the boards to visualize work so being able to report out on that work to leadership in the way they prefer, via a report, will be a great value add!

What about this idea, adding styling to custom forms? It looks like it's had quite a bit of support, is it still on the list?

As it is now, i'm not sure the current forms meet modern accessibility guidelines (ex. WCAG 2.1 AA). For example, the font-size of a question in custom forms is smaller than the options in the rest of the field. why?

Government agencies will need to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards by March 2026, and i'm not sure Workfront's forms would pass in their current state. If they aren't going to be updated to meet those standards from the product side, maybe you could allow some minimal styling or control of font size and color?

@jon_chen Is there something missing? - the Admin Boards Report does not show in our (or other's) instance(s).

My apologies for the delay everyone. Please see my responses below:

@-jc I've reached out to the product manager to respond to this thread and the corresponding idea. It seems there is some confusion around whether this idea has been released to production. I will make sure he shares an update as soon as possible - thanks for your patience.
@user01245 Thanks for your reply. While the idea you referenced is a popular suggestion, it is unfortunately past our post date requirement. Per the Community Ideas process refresh announcement, ideas older than 2 years will not be considered unless they are merged with a newer idea. If you find a similar idea that was published less than 2 years ago, please share it with me and I will be happy to perform the merge. This will increase the likelihood that the idea is addressed by our product team in future review cycles.

@jon_chen @-jc FYI. After that call on the 31st July, I raised a ticket with support to have the Boards Admin Report enabled in our instance. a day later, it was there!

So that's the way to do it it seems. (although, if announced as 'available' - it could make sense to just make it available to everyone, less confusion, less time chasing up, yada yada yada)
