When we initially set up our Workfront instance, we built the templates around common end deliverable or campaign type (integrated, social-only, creative update, video production, etc).

That's what I initially thought too, but I've cross-referenced a couple offender projects, as well as spot-checked a handful of other projects that are abiding by the schedule, and they all have the default schedule applied at the project level.

You should be able to edit the User and navigate to "Organization" where you can list who the user reports to and any direct reports they have.
