As far as I'm informed that feature is in Preview now with Q3 Beta 1&2 Release :)

As far as i'm aware there is no way in Workfront setting to get approval automatically attached on new created tasks. All happen manually. I imagine probably you would be able to do it with API help and some custom field kicking it off. But i'm not as much in depth of that. API specialist needed! :)...

It would be nice to be able to create a task status which would not allow users to update a task/log time against it. As we're all aware there is no way to lock logging time against the task.
