Adobe Experience Manager Forms

Is it possible to reader extend a PDF Form which has already been encrypted with a digital certificate?  These two methods seem to not work together since they're both certificates.  The result is that we cannot product 256-bit encrypted PDFs which are also reader extended.Thanks.
