Good afternoon,

I have been shared some projects, when I enter the “Projects” section I can indeed see the list of projects. However, when I try to access the projects I get the following message: “You do not have access to the report suite this project was saved in. Please select another report suite.”

What is the reason for this error?

Thanks!

Hi @rmadrigal ,

As the error message states, you don't seem to have access to the report suite(s) used in the project. You are able to see the project as it was shared with you but to run the project you need to have access to the report suite(s) and components (dimensions, metrics, segments, calculated metrics, date ranges etc.) used in the project.

I'll suggest you to reach out to your Admin to provide you needed report suite(s) access through Adobe Admin Console by adding you to an Adobe Analytics Product Profile that has the relevant report suite(s) added under permissions.

Cheers!

@rmadrigalYou can check with your Adobe analytics admin who is managing report suite access.

When Admin grant access to report suite then you will be able to access the Projects. Attached screenshot for more info.

As both @Amruthesh_AG and @Harveer_SinghGi1 said, "project" level shares are different than the Report Suite permissions on your account.

I can understand how this can be confusing, especially if your system needs a lot of control around who has access to what...  However, since anyone can share their report with anyone else, allowing people to view data from a report (or dimensions or metrics) that is not explicitly in their permission set would be a security vulnerability (bypassing what the admin has allowed). If that report is something that you should have access to, there should be no problem for your admin to add those permissions for you.

Hello @rmadrigal,

This error has likely occurred occurs because the shared projects are tied to a report suite that you do not have access to. Additionally, If the project is built on a Virtual Report Suite, you might only have access to the main report suite, but not the VRS itself. If I were you I would make sure I have these things checked first.
