Hello Team,We are using AEM 6.4.8/6.5.8 and using experience fragments component in our page templates for header and footer implementations similar to WKND sites. In template, we add experience fragment component with "/content/experience-fragments/us/header" as fragment path and when we create pages in /content/<project>/us/page, we are able to see the US Header. Now we created language copy of the experience fragment to "/content/experience-fragments/fr/header", and now created page under "/content/<project>/fr/page", due to Localization implementations in experience fragment core component, automatically FR header is picked up on the FR page. So far all working as expected. Now US Team, changed something in US header and planned to publish sometime next week.parallelly FR team changed some page content and when trying to publish FR page, it is showing US Header as outdated as part of References publish.. which is weird. So my guess, the localization i
Hi - I've been instructed that when replacing an existing file in the DAM to name the new document as exactly per the original and then simply drag and drop into the DAM. However, having checked and rechecked the file name, every time I drop it in, it ends up creating a new document and the option to 'Replace' the asset does not come up. Any ideas?

AEM - Rollout a page programmatically and update references by Ravipampana Abstract Out of the box RolloutManager provides below 3 methods by using that we can rollout the page programmatically. 1) void rollout(RolloutParams params) throws WCMException; 2) void rollout(ResourceResolver resolver, LiveRelationship relation, boolean reset) throws WCMException; 3) void rollout(ResourceResolver resolver, LiveRelationship relation, boolean reset, boolean autoSave) throws WCMException; But when using 2nd and 3rd method we are able to rollout the page but the link references are not getting updated to the corresponding locale. This is because we are not providing the rollout trigger in 2nd and 3rd methods, so referenceUpdate is not getting triggered. In order to update the link references in the rollout page we need to use 1st method and pass/set the required details in RolloutParams class. Below is example code for setting the RolloutParams RolloutParams rolloutParams = new RolloutPara

AEM Akamai Cache flush Agent by Seenivasa Ragavan Soundar Rajan Abstract IntroductionPermalink After the first hit to the page in aem and HTML response received for first time from publish instance will get cached on Akamai level. Subsequent request to the same page will be served from the cached content in Akamai rather than hitting dispatcher / publisher. Anytime did you struggled to get the latest HTML from publisher instead of Akamai cache? Well we did!!! What we have donePermalink We have worked on AEM replication agent for flushing Akamai cache whenever page gets published. So, after author change a page content and publish it our Akamai cache flush agent will pick that page and request to akamai for clearing cache. So that user of that page will get the latest content instead of cached old content from Akamai. Read Full Blog AEM Akamai Cache flush Agent Q&A Please use this thread to ask the related questions.

We have a filter which sets the MDC for org.slf4j.Logger. TO BE CLEAR, THIS QUESTION IS NOT ABOUT THE FILTER, WHICH WORKS, BUT ABOUT HOW TO ADD THE MDC TO THE LOG STRING!It seems there is a major bug or major missing feature in AEM which is the ability to add mdc vars into the json log format. E.g. neither of these documented ways work - both result in the entire log format being ignored. "org.apache.sling.commons.log.pattern": "{0,date,yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss.SSS} [%X{APPID:-NoAppId}] {4} [{3}] {5}", and "org.apache.sling.commons.log.pattern": "{0,date,yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss.SSS} mdc{} *{4} [{3}] {5}", The vars are put into the MDC using standard servlet filter, e.g. public void doFilter(final ServletRequest request, final ServletResponse response, final FilterChain filterChain) throws IOException, ServletException { final SlingHttpServletReques

How to check registered sling models classes in AEM? by Rashid jorvee Abstract Sling Models are annotation driven Java "POJO's" (Plain Old Java Objects) that facilitate the mapping of data from the JCR to Java variables and provide a number of other refinements when developing in the context of AEM (Adobe Experience Manager). Sling Models Bound to Resource Types and can be explored and view in Felix console using the below path. Advantages of AEM Assets as a Cloud Service by James Talbot Abstract Adobe Experience Manager Assets as a Cloud Service offers a cloud-native solution to manage large scale assets and handle Dynamic Media operations. In this blog post, we will look at the advantages of AEM Assets as a Cloud Service, and how Asset Microservices plays a unique role and greatly helps with performance and speed. First off, both AEM Assets as a Cloud Service and Asset Microservices are always current with the latest features. Adobe provides a daily update of the AEM Assets Base Image as well as daily hotfix releases for both AEM Assets and Asset Microservices. In addition, AEM Assets as a Cloud Service provides a monthly release of new features, while Asset Microservices provides a weekly release of new features. The architecture of AEM Assets as a Cloud Service is uniquely designed to improve Asset handling performance. A client, such as a web browser, sends an upload request to Adobe Experience Manager
How to easily access CRX/DE after AEM 6.5.5 upgrade (SP5) by Santosh Sai Abstract If you are on AEM 6.5 and have upgraded to Service Pack 5 (AEM version 6.5.5) you might have noticed that you can no longer login to AEM via CRX/DE This change was implemented in the SP5 update and according to the CSE that our team worked with: “The login and logout buttons have been removed on purpose from CRXDE for security reasons (internal ID: GRANITE-27790). Back ported to AEM 6.5.5.0 as part NPR-33521.” The work around that the CSE suggested was to navigate to: https://:/libs/granite/core/content/login.html login and then navigate to /crx/de You can take that workaround a step further and navigate to https://:/libs/granite/core/content/login.html?resource=crx/de the added resource=/crx/de param here is just the AEM param for redirect after authentication. Basically, after you login, you’ll be redirected to /crx/de That only works on Author instances, for Publish instances, you have to nav
Adobe Experience Platform Mobile SDKs Move to Swift for iOS by Peter Fransen and Chetan Prasad Abstract In late 2016 we embarked on a journey to reimagine our existing Adobe Experience Platform Mobile SDKs. There were a few concrete goals in mind, as well as a few nice-to-haves. First and foremost we wanted to implement an extensible and pluggable architecture that would allow for incremental additions of functionality, both internally developed and from partners and customers alike. Additionally, we wanted to build platform-independent logic that was easily portable across various client devices and operating systems. Lastly, we wanted to ensure that the various performance metrics that we track for the SDK (CPU time, memory consumption, binary size, stability) remained at least the same as our pre-existing SDKs. Language selection With our baseline requirements and architectures in hand, we moved on to the selection of the underlying language(s) that could be used to achieve or exc
Announcing new Adobe Experience Manager capabilities for rapid delivery of brand experiences by Loni Stark Abstract When you provide an amazing brand experience, your customers are more likely to return, and tell family and friends about their positive experience. This is what every brand strives for when they think about winning in customer experience management (CXM). And yet, what we hear about more often are the bad experiences. Maybe it’s that a brand lost an important order. Or that a brand isn’t getting any customer feedback, because their content isn’t relevant or interesting to whom it’s being served. A part of the challenge is that most organizations don’t realize that the content they are creating isn’t appealing to their customers. Another issue: enterprises often suffer from departmental silos, meaning the various business units that touch the customer experience don’t realize how their separate decisions impact the overall customer journey. As consumers continue to rai
