Segments in the Adobe Experience Cloud by Pedromonjo Abstract One question that we hear from time to time is “why do I have so many places to create segments?” Or, its variation “why can’t I have a single place to manage all my segments?” These are uncomfortable questions, which require some detailed explanation. I am also aware that not all our customers accept the answer. In this post, I will go through the features of the various segments engines and why it makes sense that they differ. Let me start with a clarification. I use the words segment and audience as virtual synonyms. A quick Internet search shows that they are not and each page will give a different explanation of the difference. In my mind, a segment is a definition in technical terms to select a group of individuals and an audience is that group of individuals. By this is my personal point of view. A historical perspective The first and simplest answer to the questions in the first paragraph is: for historical reason
How to deliver headless content through GraphQL API and Content Fragments? | AEM(Adobe Experience Manager) by albinsblog Abstract HOW TO DELIVER HEADLESS CONTENT THROUGH GRAPHQL API AND CONTENT FRAGMENTS? | AEM(ADOBE EXPERIENCE MANAGER) Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Content Fragments allow you to design, create, curate and publish page-independent content. They allow you to prepare content ready for use in multiple locations/over multiple channels. GraphQL is a query language and server-side runtime for application programming interfaces (APIs) that prioritizes giving clients exactly the data they request and no more. GraphQL is designed to make APIs fast, flexible, and developer-friendly. AEM as a Cloud Service and AEM 6.5.10.0+ version supports GraphQL API to expose the Content Fragment to enable the headless content experience. AEM as a Cloud Service and AEM 6.5.10.0 versions enable the GraphQL runtime platform to expose the Content Fragments through GraphQL API. Read Full Blog
AEM - Editing Launches by Adobe Abstract Editing Launch Pages When a launch has been created for a page (or set of pages) you can edit the content in the launch copy of the page(s). Access the Launch from References (Sites console) to show the available actions. Select Go to the page to open the page for editing. NOTE You are not allowed to move a page within a launch. Attempting this action will trigger a warning message: Warning: This page is the source of a launch. Moving the page is not permitted. Editing Launch Pages Subject to a Live Copy If your launch is based upon a live copy then you will: see lock symbols (small padlocks) when you edit a component (content and/or properties). see the Live Copy tab in Page Properties A livecopy is used to synchronize content from the source branch to your launch branch (to keep your launch up-to-date with changes made in the source). You can make changes in the same way as you can edit a standard live copy; for example: Clicking on a cl
AEM - Seeing Page Analytics Data by Adobe Abstract Use page analytics data to gauge the effectiveness of the page content. Analytics visible from the Console aa-10 Page analytics data is displayed in List View of the Sites console. When the pages are displayed in list format, the following columns are available by default: Page Views Unique Visitors Time on Page Each column shows a value for the current reporting period, and also indicates whether the value has increased or decreased since the previous reporting period. The data that you see is updated every 12 hours. NOTE To change the update period, configure the import interval. Open the Sites console; for example http://localhost:4502/sites.html/content In the far right of the toolbar, (upper right corner), click or tap the icon to select List View (the icon shown will depend on the current view). Again, in the far right of the toolbar, (upper right corner), click or tap the icon then select View Settings. The Configure Col
Some months back, I told you how to accurately wait for the MktoForms2 global object — a dependency for all custom Forms 2.0 JS behaviors. A recent Marketo Nation thread piqued my interest in the opposite direction. The question, consolidated for readability: Question about embedded forms. I can detect when the MktoForms2 object is present and respond to that. My concern is the possible case where MktoForms2 is available but the Form Editor config [Sandy’s note: this is called the “form descriptor”] fails to load for any reason. Is there any indication that a form was not successfully loaded, even though the Forms 2.0 library was? Now, the moment you say “for any reason” you have to cover a wide range of cases. Not to say these cases haveever happened with Marketo, let alone with any frequency worth worrying about, but they could potentially happen with any forms library. Even excluding problems wholly on the end user’
Author: Baubak Gandomi One of the subjects I have been interested in is how do we automatically validate the successful upgrade/migration of an application. Upgrading is one of the biggest pains in many organizations, and the validation of it is even more complex. This is usually because there are so many elements and steps involved in such a process. Another big problem with issues found during upgrades is correctly finding the cause of the problems and reproducing them. This has been a challenge that we set out to address at Adobe Campaign. This process is now standard validation for the Adobe Campaign product releases. We will describe the different methods for automating upgrade tests, and how we can highlight issues that are purely related to upgrades. Nomenclature To avoid any misunderstanding we will be using the following nomenclature: Upgrade: The process of changing a deployed version N (Source Version) for software to another version M (Target Version), for migration. Syst
We have included this plugin in the s-code and for all the pageviews even when the mouse is used, it is fired as "bot detected". Not sure if this plugin works only when the Adobe Tag container (JS) is hosted on Adobe domain ? Because we host the container JS not on the Adobe domain rather our own company domain. Any thoughts on this. Do we know other reasons, why the plugin function is always returning true rather it is expected to return false
Segmentations in Marketo are a powerful feature to organize and sort your database based on data already available to you. One tip I wanted to share today is how you can use segmentations in Marketo to group multiple fields that have the same or similar data and create segmentations using those data points. This will allow you to simplify your workflow when building smart campaigns and smart lists and reduce the potential for error later on. The problem statement: You might have multiple fields in your instance that contain essentially the same information. Geographical data is one example that I have seen from instance to instance. You might have a field for Country (Marketo field), Inferred Country (Marketo field), Billing Country (Syncs from SFDC), and other country fields from your data appending services. Moving data from one field to another might not be as simple due to restricted picklists, different ways of spelling the same thing, varying data quality depending

Recently, I had to remind one of my clients about the ability to set communication limits in Marketo. We were brainstorming new email and nurture campaigns, and she was concerned about over-communication with leads who qualify for multiple campaigns. So she asked: “How do communication limits work?"There’s some information about this on the community, but it took me some digging around so I’m collecting all that info here for others who might also be curious. The simple answer is: Marketo allows you to set the maximum number of emails a lead will receive per day or per week.A more detailed answer follows in the form of FAQS:How is “per day” and “per week” defined? The per day limit is based on a calendar day from 12 am to 12 am. The per week limit is on a rolling basis from 12 am to 12 am between. (Time zones are defined in your Admin - Location panel). How do you turn on communication limits? You can enable and define communication limits globally in the Admin tab.Can you override commun
Developer Console and Adobe I/O CLI for Cloud Manager to Debug AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS) by Albin Issac Abstract AEM as a Cloud Service provides a Developer Console for each environment that exposes various details of the running AEM service that are helpful in debugging. Each AEM as a Cloud Service environment has its own Developer Console. Adobe I/O CLI for Cloud Manager provides commands to download/tail the logs from AEM as a Cloud Service environment. Do Your UX Designs Support Content Authors? by Tiffany Olejnik Abstract If you’re like many other UX designers who are new to the Experience Manager (AEM) world, the idea of unleashing your pixel-perfect designs into the wild west of content authoring can be daunting. The user experience has gone through many rounds of revisions and feedback to finally reach a perfected version ready for launch. And yet, a new role will be modifying this same experience. How can we be sure the marketing team will maintain the integrity of the original designs? As UX designers, our requirements are not unreasonable: We need to maintain the brand integrity, and support usability and accessibility for our site visitors, all while reigning in consistency across page layouts. In order to maintain that, designers will typically lock-down component capabilities and responsive behavior — potentially limiting content authoring to simple copy & paste tasks. Credibility is on the line, so requirements are
How to Add Image Management to an AEM TouchUI Dialog: Tutorial by Exadel Abstract Hi guys! It’s been a long summer. We hope you enjoyed it despite the pandemic – had some rest, maybe travelled to fancy places and took some good photos. Speaking of photos, hardly any website can do without images nowadays, and we as AEM developers work every day building image-rich web experiences. Many of the components we create have the “insert/upload” option for AEM images in Touch UI. There are multi-image components in AEM sites that offer multiple image slots for desktop, tablet, and mobile views. A Touch UI dialog must support basic image management, including picking from a file system, drag-and-drop, a preview box, and a clear button. These options have always been present in AEM image widgets. However, there has always been a fly in the ointment. In Classic UI, we had the Html5SmartImage dialog component. Setting it up wasn’t easy. To provide a better image uploading experience, you had to
Set OSGi Component properties dynamically using OCD - Use case with Sling ResourceChangeListener by Vijayalakshmi Abstract In general, per OSGi R6 annotations and above, we can set OSGi component properties via property attribute of @Component annotation (Static values) or Dynamically using @ObjectClassDefinition together with @AttributeDefinition (property amends in run time via Config Admin or /system/console/configMgr) AttributeDefinition should be framed such that it evaluates to the property name correctly (underscores are converted to dots/period) Association of OCD with OSGi component happens via annotation named @Designate Example : Component properties like service.ranking and in case of specific implementations like say WorkflowProcess, we set property named process.label and for EventHandler, it is EventConstants.EVENT_TOPIC and examples add on in a similar fashion for any OSGi Component for that matter. In order to illustrate this, I would like to consider Sling Resource
OOTB Documentation for AEM Components | AEM 6.5 | AEMaaCs by aemsimplifiedbynikhil Abstract As we work on different modules and components in AEM project we end up creating the Component Documentation and hosting it on client’s Confluence or other Documentation tools. Those documents contains technical details like how to configure the module to show certain functionality so that it is easy for new developers to understand the use case of the component. Usually, we see the help (?) icon on the component dialog which redirects to the help path of respective Adobe’s AEM Documentation . Let’s see how we can provide the documentation for our custom component or existing OOTB extended components. You can find the list of components at: Go to AEM Start Menu > Tools > General > Select Component Option. (http://localhost:4502/libs/wcm/core/content/sites/components.html) Click on any of the components. which will show the component information on with following tabs. Properties — T

If you are doing any repetitive work within Marketo e.g. bulk merging leads, bulk creating programs etc then you should look into using the API within code scripts or an automation tool such as Zapier to automate these processes. This post will take you all the way from the docs to making your first requests in Postman to integrating these requests into Zapier actions or scripts in your favorite programming language. If you are looking for a course for learning the Marketo API then DM me 🙂 What is an API? Anyone can Google the technical definition of an API and what it does so I won't go into that here. I will instead offer as layman a definition as possible. Basically, an API is a collection of urls (called endpoints) to which you either retrieve information from (GET request) or post information to (POST request). You can learn how to make your first GET and POST requests in Postman below. According to how th
Hey guys! We are in the process of pushing our site up to live, but we are running into an error with the Accordion Core Component. In staging, I am able to use the accordions and test it, however, in publish, the accordions don't open and we are receiving a console error that reads: "Uncaught ReferenceError: CQ is not defined." Any ideas what could be causing this error?
Hello, I am trying to understand how to pass Attachments from one Assign Task to another. On the submission, I can see that I can add a Variable Array of Documents. That works, all is good. However, on the subsequent Assign Task, in the pre-populate section, I do not see the ability to assign a Variable Array to the prepopulation. Does this mean that we must write the document Array to the payload?Actually, that wouldn't work because we can only attach one document to the Prepopulate in Assign Task. If somebody could explain this to me, it would be great. Thanks,
