We are upgrading from aem 6.3 to aem 6.4And performing in-place upgrade following these steps - Performing an In-Place UpgradeI want to clarify on the steps to get this successfulStop the instance if it is runningDownload the new AEM6.4 jar file and use it to replace the old one outside the crx-quickstart folder.Unpack the new quickstart jar by running:java -jar AEM_6.4_author-p4504.jar –unpackjava -server -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=256M -Djava.awt.headless=true -Dsling.run.modes=author,crx3,crx3tar -jar cq-author-p4504.jar -c crx-quickstart -p 4504 -Dsling.properties=conf/sling.propertiesStart AEM either using start.bat or the jarFew questions:1. Are steps 4 and 5 required (both)?2. As far as i understand step 5 should start AEM as well. - Am I right? So step 6 should not be needed.3. Since upgrade works fine with just unpacking also with just step 4 and 6. What is the need for the step 5? For setting the run-modes alone?Just wanted to make sure i understand the steps I am performing

Hi AEM Community, I used the Editable Template to create a new template, and when I'm done, the new template is to be found under /conf in CRXDE. Then I tried to import the new template into an IDE - ideally either IntelliJ or VSCode, but had a hard time doing so. ****What I've tried****I tried to use the VSCode AEM Sync extension which is very nice and did part of the job as shown below. I right-click on jcr_root and do "Import from AEM Server" it only imported the /content/jcr_root/content, not the /conf****What I expected - a working example from another project****What I expected was something like from the WKND project as follows:****More Info****If I right-clicked for "Import from AEM Server" the path above jcr_root, I received an error message, that's why doing it on the ui.content level or the src/main/content level isn't an option here****So my question is****How can I get the /conf into my IDE?It doesn't have to be VSCode AEM Sync, if anybody knows how to achieve th
Hello Finders, We are in last leg of growing with Platform Experience, till now we have got idea of basic working of Platform experience, how we can know our customer behavior and identify the patterns leading to the behavior. Today we will talk about Alerts. Adobe Experience Platform allows you to subscribe to event-based alerts regarding Adobe Experience Platform activities. Alerts reduce or eliminate the need to poll the Observability Insights API in order to check if a job has completed, if a certain milestone within a workflow has been reached, or if any errors have occurred. Read all about Alerts from here. Adobe Experience Platform provides several predefined alert rules that you can enable for your organization. Checkout the Adobe provided alert rules from here. Let’s relate all of them in “what to do” To get started, select Alerts in the left navigation. The Browse tab lists the available rules that may trigger an alert. Select a rule from the list to
Every request reaching the AEM dispatchers via the CDN (which is default) should contain these additional HTTP headers provided by the CDN.The situation can be different if you want to handle these headers in the AEM publish instance, because this requires that the dispatcher forwards these headers. Depending on your configuration this might or might not be the case (although it's default in the dispatcher config sample for some years and there's hardly a need to change that default).
Hi Designer here, our customer uses Adobe Campaign (don't know if Classic or not) to send Newsletters out. They require from us, the designers, to deliver the newsletter as as ZIP File with HTML and Images.I have no experience with Campaign, am wondering what the best practice is to design and deliver what they require. Is there an Adobe product to create and deliver what they need? I've seen Spark mentioned(?), of course Dreamweaver can make newsletters (but it's been a long time since I've dabbled in HTML). Is there something simple/intuitive? Currently we have the Creative Cloud Plan, but if there's a software which isn't included in it, we could theoretically also get that. Thanks *Edit* According to the customer (the one using Campaign) she requires the Newsletter as a zipped folder containing the HTML5, Images, etc). Don't know if that changes anything.
UPDATE: I have a Composite component A, which have a child B (also a composite component) . B has a cq:template which initializes children of B lets say title, name and image components. This doesnt works as expected in sightly, I am not able to get children of B title, name and image in A.
Check out this post by Adobe Tech Blog about no new Data Connectors being created by Adobe Analytics product team and that Adobe Exchange will serve as the storefront for all Experience Cloud integrations, including all-new Adobe Analytics integrations. This blog post also talks about how Adobe Exchange will be used in integrating with Adobe Campaign Classic: Data Connectors End of Life: Leverage Adobe Exchange for APIs Blog Abstract: The Adobe Analytics product team has removed the tools that allow new Data Connectors to be created, and this means no new Data Connectors or new versions of Data Connectors can be created. The majority of Connectors used FTP import/export method that worked on port 21 and Adobe Exchange will be using only API. Going forward, the way to integrate with Adobe Analytics is to use the publicly available APIs. The Adobe Exchange will serve as the storefront for all Experience Cloud integrations, including all-new Adobe Analytics

When creating an Interactive communication letter, is it possible to use more than one form data model. That is data for the letter comes from three different services. For example, Customer and Billing services. At present both are written as different API services. So is it possible to combine these two services and create one Form Data Model. If so, can this only be done via backend servlets. Please advise. Thanks

Experience Manager and Magento are seamlessly integrated using the Commerce Integration Framework (CIF). CIF enables AEM to access a Magento instance and bind the catalog data via GraphQL. It also allows AEM Authors to use Product and Category Pickers and a read-only Product Console to browse through product and category data fetched on-demand from Magento. In addition, CIF provides an out-of-the-box storefront that can accelerate commerce projects.ArchitectureThe overall architecture is as follows:AEM Venia Reference Store-frontThe AEM Venia reference storefront is a modern production-ready reference storefront showcasing a basic B2C commerce journey. It can be used to kickstart commerce projects and accelerate projects using AEM, CIF, and Magento. It demonstrates best practices for integrating AEM and Magento and shows how to use the Commerce Core Components. It also provides pre-sales with a reference site to demo the integration between AEM and Magento. The project is open source an
Hello, Need some confirmation - I have a workflow where just before the Delivery I perform a 'Change Dimension' activity. In my Delivery, I have a javascript where I do a xtk.querydef and select data from the vars.targetSchema - which technically should have been the schema from the Change Dimension. When I tried to run it, I was getting an error "relation wkf*******_changeaxis2" does not exist". I added a split activity after the "Change Dimension" and the Delivery worked fine. I've been told the reason the javascript didn't work is because the Change Dimension does not create a temp workflow table, hence the reason the JS didn't work and gave me the error. Is this true?

AEM 6.5.10 - Lazy Load Image and Smart Crop req=set, json calls in Image Core Component by Sreekanth Choudry Nalabotu Abstract Goal Lazy loading feature in Image Core Component lazy loads the image improving performance, however with Dynamic Media enabled, the respective Smart crop settings for image prefetched using req=set, json calls (eg. https://s7d1.scene7.com/is/image/EAEM/test-zab67579_rgb?req=set,json) during page load may affect performance. ESI : Rendering Dynamic Content | AEM by engineering.icf Abstract What is ESI ? Edge Side Includes or ESI is a small markup language for edge level dynamic web content assembly. The purpose of ESI is to tackle the problem of web infrastructure scaling. It is an application of edge computing. Static Content vs Dynamic Content ? Let’s assume we have dynamic website having most of the pages are mixture of static and dynamic content. The portion of the page should be un-cacheable and rest of the page should serve from the cache. The question here is, how do you ensure the cache won’t be impacted by having dynamic content on the page. A few possible options are – Option 1 : Load dynamic content Asynchronously (AJAX) Option 2 : Load dynamic content using ESI. I would say both the options are the best, but you should choose based on type of the website and infra considerations . Having said that, let’s talk about the scenarios when to choose what ? Implementing Interactive Communication in AEM Forms by Suvadeep Dey Abstract This article aims to provide down the steps required to implement Interactive Communication in AEM Forms. This is a very complex process as par various online product documentation. The idea behind this article is to try and simplify the same by taking up a commonly used simple use case. Use cases Interactive Communication is an integral part of any transaction that a user carries out with a website in today’s online world. The transactions could range from online tickets, getting financial documents through an email from financial services firms, travel itinerary from travel portals, etc. The below could be some of the possible use cases where an interactive communication is used: 1. A user submits his/her details on an online form and the system after processing responds back to the user with an email that has an attachment in the shape of a interactive communication. This has both the data entered by the

As I explored in my last Product Blogs post, as a technical marketer, knowing when you must not encode is just as important as knowing when you must. There’s also a 3rd, more nuanced case: when you should have encoded, yet because apps have certain safeguards the results won’t be fatal. You screwed up (and it was a screwup) but it isn’t a fireable offense, nor likely even noticed by management. But you should still slap yourself on the wrist for it.😊 The backstory You’ve surely heard that “URLs with literal space characters are invalid.” And that’s not just a rumor, it’s absolutely true. This is not a valid URL, per W3C/WHATWG and IETF standards: https://www.example.com/my page with spaces.html To be a valid URL, each space would have to be replaced by %20.[1] Then that basic truth gets extended to “HTML attributes that represent URLs and have literal space characters are invali
