Marketo Custom Sync Filter for Microsoft Dynamics CRM The default behavior for the Marketo-MSD Native Connector is for all open Leads and active Contacts in MSD to sync down to Marketo when the sync is turned on. However, you can alter this behavior by creating a custom sync filter in MSD, which enables you to designate specific records to sync or not sync with Marketo. Step 1: Confirm the latest version of the Marketo Plugin is installed Before creating the filter, please ensure that you have the most recent release of the Marketo plugin installed in your MSD instance. See: Marketo Plugin Releases for Microsoft Dynamics Step 2: Create the Sync Custom Field in MSD Login to you MSD instance as an Admin with permissions to create and publish custom fields. Create the following field on at least the Lead & Contact entities: Display Name: SyncToMkto Name: new_synctomkto Field Requirement: Business Required Data Type: Two Options (Yes & No) Field Type: Simple Default

Configure AEM Dispatcher to prevent DoS Attacks by Aemrules Abstract A denial of service (DoS) attack is an attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users. At the dispatcher level, there are two methods of configuring to prevent DoS attacks: Use the mod_rewrite module (for example, Apache 2.4) to perform URL validations (if the URL pattern rules are not too complex). Prevent the dispatcher from caching URLs with spurious extensions by using filters. For example, change the caching rules to limit caching to the expected mime types, such as .html .jpeg .gif .swf .js .doc .pdf .ppt .... as per your project requirement. An example configuration file is given below, for this includes restrictions for mime types. When configuring Dispatcher you should restrict external access as much as possible. The following example provides example for the minimal access for external visitors, you can refer the default file. /filter { # Deny everything first and then allow spec

AEM Experience Manager(AEM): Content Sharing Approaches by Albinsblog Abstract In most cases, we need to share the CMS content with external systems to support the Omni channel's headless experiences or other use cases to support content sharing. In this post, let us see the options available to share the AEM content with external systems. GRAPH QL: The graph QL API shares the content fragments to enable the headless content experience with the external system. The structured data can be managed through Content Fragments in AEM and shared through Graph QL API to support the omnichannel experiences. The latest AEM 6.5 and AEM as a Clod Services versions support Graph QL API; the Graph QL API currently supports only exposing content fragments externally, not for the regular page content. Refer to the following URL for more details on using Graph QL to API to share content fragments with external systems — https://medium.com/tech-learnings/how-to-deliver-headless-content-through-graph

5 Maven Plugins to Turbocharge Your AEM Development by Daniel Klco Abstract A confession, oftentimes I use this blog as a bookmark for helpful tools and information that's scattered across the internet. This is most definitely one of those type of posts. Hopefully you find it helpful too! There are numerous plugins for Maven which make it easier to work with AEM from the command line. Mastering these Maven commands makes it easier and quicker for you to develop code. However, unsurprisingly, the documentation for the plugins is sprinkled across a number of plugin sites. I'd note this post doesn't cover "basic" Maven commands such as installing an AEM project, but instead focuses on less-common but invaluable commands. Getting "Stuff" Into AEM AEM makes it pretty easy to get content / code in and out of the system with JCR FileVault Packages and OSGi Bundles. With these Maven plugins you can automate it! #1 Install / Download Content Packages with the content-package-maven-plug
Segment is a powerful platform for gathering customer data from different sources and distributing it to multiple destinations, such as Marketo, seamlessly. If you have bespoke data sources e.g. activities from your portal, that you cannot get into Marketo using the launchpoint service then Segment is your knight in shining armour! This post will give you an introduction to the Segment platform covering these basics How Segment is setup with Sources and Destinations The different event types in Segment How to test events and debug delivery issues If you want a recap on the definition of a CDP and how it is different from a marketing automation platform then check out my first post on this topic The difference between Marketo and a CDP. Or if you want to get straight into the nitty-gritty then check out the Integrating Marketo with Segment post to see how to set up Marketo custom activities and fields. Segment Event
The Segment documentation does a very good job at getting you up and started with setting up Marketo as a destination. Build on top of this by adding Marketo Custom Activities and Fields so that you can get events and lead field values into Marketo. In particular, this post will help clear up some prickly points like “What is a primary key in a custom activity?” and “Can custom activity fields populate lead fields?”. In case you missed my first two posts on this topic or need a quick refresher before diving in below take a cheeky glance at these posts: The difference between Marketo and a CDP Overview of the Segment-Marketo Relationship Custom Activities Primary Key & Other Custom Activity Fields Before diving into the creation of a custom activity in Marketo and mapping this activity to a Segment event, it is best to start by explaining the primary key and how properties of the Segmen
Take the first step towards becoming an attribution master by learning how to set up UTM programs and smart campaigns to match website visitors to particular ad campaigns, set first and latest touch attribution fields, and track downstream conversions to signup or contact sales forms. This post will focus on tracking UTM parameters but if you want to learn how to track organic referral, social, and search visits with your campaigns so they DON’T STEAL ATTRIBUTION FROM YOUR PAID CAMPAIGNS then take a look at the Anonymous People & Attribution post. As a bonus for the eager beavers among us, I will also show you how you can streamline the process from a marketing team member requesting UTM parameters all the way to setting up tracking for these parameters in Marketo. Tracking UTMs UTM Program Within the UTM program there are 4 different smart campaigns responsible for tracking visits or conversions and
This post sets out to demistify the enigma of anonymous people and how they interact with your attribution smart campaigns. Once we have gone through the quirks of tracking attribution for anonymous people I will show you how to modify your smart campaigns so that these leads will always get their first and last touch attribution fields set correctly. While this post focuses exclusively on attribution, if you want to learn more about anonymous people in general then see the Understanding Anonymous Activity and People documentation. Attribution Program Setup Before beginning with this post, I first recommend taking a look at the UTM Tracking & Automation post where I walk through how to set up attribution programs and smart campaigns to track visits and conversions from ad campaigns where UTM parameters are being used. The same setup outlined in this previous post can also be used for tracking organic search, social, and referral visits
Data Storytelling can be difficult to learn. And difficult to teach for that matter! Many resources commonly provide a wealth of details and tactics. Hello,I'm using AEM 6.3 and currently working on a dialog with a datepicker field. I'm trying to use the "valueFormat" property so that I can save the date value in something other than the standard UTC format but it doesn't appear to work correctly. ・Activity Map reporting in Analytics - Analytics Activity Map dimensionshttps://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics/analyze/activity-map/activitymap-reporting-analytics.html 注意:ただし、あなたは Activity
Background: In one of the implementations, we have a reverse proxy in front of AEM setup & following microservices based architecture and a hybrid content delivery model. The requirements are to manipulate both inbound & outbound urls for architectural (& SEO) reasons. Broadly, it can be categorized into two buckets:Manipulate the urls within AEMManipulate the urls outside AEM meaning mounting a specific pattern on AEM root to simplify routing between AEM & non-AEM appsI've seen various implementations within & outside AEM using resolver, etc-map, Transformers, ACS-Commons, bespoke solutions, apache, nginx etc. but there are pros/cons to each depending on the end-goal. I'd love to hear from the SMEs about the best practices or maybe pitfalls to avoid in general (or AEMaaCS specifically) that could potentially become a bottleneck down the line. Thanks in advance! I am facing 503 AuthenticationSupport service missing. Cannot authenticate request error every time server is started. This happened many times. There is no such broken error information on the error log file. I have even deleted the repository but didn't help much. I even use oak but still no use. I had set up it multiple times to skip this error but I don't feel confident with this approach. For better information, I am attaching the latest error log file. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aXEcZP_Tvk1ebBxfOmR9Q1ffk2KLeW66/view?usp=sharing NOTE: I am a beginner in AEM. Please be gentle😁
I’m a type-A person - meaning that everything must be in order, running smoothly and according to plan. Pretty quickly I found out that putting off fires is not exactly my favorite place to be. In our line of work putting off fires is part of the daily job - but does it have to be like that? Not necessarily. I took it upon myself this year to minimize all “surprises” and have a chance to fix things before they escalate. Meet my OP-System Checks program. In this blog post, I am going to talk about all the fun things I put in there. In the 3 folders you see above I have a series of smart lists that enable me to find errors in the database. Some of them I check daily, some are checked weekly while some maybe 1/month. The goal is to have 0 records on each smart list. The goal is also to catch any errors early on and take the steps to remediate them. Below I share the most popular lists in my instance. All these lists can be adapte
