I have requirement to migrate 27000 approx pages from old website to AEM. I see that 80 % of pages have same structure but there are some pages which have completely different structure. What should be a suggested approach for content migration to AEM?
Is there any possibility to automate the removal of the creative display? I am talking about 30 pages per referral, at an average of 10 referrals per page. It is an absolute waste of time and effort. There must be a way to make it automated.Thank you very much.
HI ,We're in the process of converting all of our Classic UI dialogs to Touch UI using the dialog conversion tool. We're using the showhide xtype in a lot of our form field components and we're looking for an equivalent or alternative widget for the Touch UI. Any suggestions?Description about showhide xtype widgets:-I'm referring to the specific showhide xtype which handles show/hide logic for the HTML elements in a web form, not widgets in a dialog. The values captured in this xtype are passed along to the Abacus JS which handles form logic for components that extend OOTB form field components. Below is a screenshot of the showhide xtype. Clicking that checkbox in the background dialog opens the 2nd dialog that allows authors to configure show/hide logic for elements that are present on the web form. Dialog shown below for more clarity: Thanks a lot in advance 🙂@marcush35887118 @shruti93sinha Jeetendra
Generate JWT Token for AEM Cloud Manager API by Himanshu Singhal Abstract Most of you who're in project migration phase or already migrated to AEM as cloud service might had this challenge where you'd want to deploy to CM directly from your end instead of going to cloud web and triggering it from there. For development environments, it's alright to set it to deploy on 'GIT CHNAGE' but that's mostly not the case with Stage, Prod environments. Obviously, the available web look provided by Adobe is amazing to perform actions but sometimes based on your organisation requirement, you'd want to automate tasks and if you'd want to go with API, you definitely need to have a valid access token. Generation of access token is available via Adobe developer console (https://developer.adobe.com/) by going to project and generating token however, it valid only for 24 hours. And, it's tedious to update token manually every time when it expires so here's the python script that would help you to genera

Advantages of AEM Assets as a Cloud Service by James Talbot Abstract Adobe Experience Manager Assets as a Cloud Service offers a cloud-native solution to manage large scale assets and handle Dynamic Media operations. In this blog post, we will look at the advantages of AEM Assets as a Cloud Service, and how Asset Microservices plays a unique role and greatly helps with performance and speed. First off, both AEM Assets as a Cloud Service and Asset Microservices are always current with the latest features. Adobe provides a daily update of the AEM Assets Base Image as well as daily hotfix releases for both AEM Assets and Asset Microservices. In addition, AEM Assets as a Cloud Service provides a monthly release of new features, while Asset Microservices provides a weekly release of new features. The architecture of AEM Assets as a Cloud Service is uniquely designed to improve Asset handling performance. A client, such as a web browser, sends an upload request to Adobe Experience Manager
A client gets regular uploads of quarterly sales data into Marketo custom objects. They send a “your recent activity” email to customers when each quarter ends or a few days after that (could be the first or second weekday of the next month). The email must include the exact quarter end date: “These are your purchases for the quarter ending June 30, 2022.” Obviously this is a job for Velocity, with its robust ability to calculate dates and times. But there isn’t a built-in method like getQuarterEndDate() — we have to build it ourselves from date and time methods. So let’s dive in. Start with the includes As always, we start with the standard includes from the seminal post on days and times in Velocity: #set( $defaultTimeZone = $date.getTimeZone().getTimeZone("America/New_York") ) #set( $defaultLocale = $date.getLocale() ) #set( $calNow = $date.getCalendar() ) #set( $ret = $calNow.setTimeZone($defaultTimeZone) ) #set( $calConst = $field.in($calNow) ) #set( $ISO8601

Hi There, We have a requirement where we need to change roles value as per our specific format while creating any translation project. Currently, It is following "projects-<project-name>-<name-from-role-template>" and we want to change it to some other format like "<project-name>-<role-assigned>". Please do let me know your views on the same. Thanks,Ravi Joshi
Hi All, We'd like to make calls to GraphQL endpoint programatically from within AEM (OSGi bundles). Can help share how to best do it? Should we use https://github.com/adobe/aem-headless-client-java? Is this Java client designed to be used inside AEM or outside AEM?Or what about using HTTP Client Factory in AEM? https://kiransg.com/2021/11/08/aem-invoke-api-how-to-use-http-client-factory/

Did you recently inherited a Marketo instance, and would like to do comprehensive implementation review process? Or, do you have an audit coming up as a part of periodic instance health check? If yes, you should check out the attached resource, where I've tried covering the items you should go through while reviewing your Marketo instance! There's a huge difference between implementing a Marketo instance right-up from the scratch and auditing/reviewing an existing Marketo instance. When it comes the reviewing an existing implementation, one needs to thoroughly go through every nook and corner of the instance to find any potential issues. Furthermore, one needs to also look in to what is working and what is not from a marketing strategy perspective by looking at the performance reports, and comparing them with the industry benchmarks, business goals, and expectations. I documented a list of items that one should consider checking and going through while r
Unsubscribe System Token{{system.unsubscribeLink}}1. Allows the “Unsubscribe” link to be placed anywhere in the email, and even to be set on the template level.2. Functions EXACTLY as the appended unsubscribe link3. Doesn’t count as “Clicked link in email”4. Reads record as “Unsubscribed from email”5. No need to “Clicked link and was not unsubscribe link”6. Automatically removes the appended unsubscribe if the link is in the email.7. Token renders the link to the unsubscribe page, so the token should be placed inside the anchor tag; for example<a href=”{{system.unsubscribeLink}}”>Unsubscribe from our Newsletter</a>Source: Marketo System Tokens for "Unsubscribe" and "View As Web Page" - Elixiter, Inc.
Hi All, I am trying to set default dropdown value at page properties level where I need to first get the selected value and then change the default value based on current url. Below is the code snippet I tried so far: $(document).ready(function() { var currentUrl = window.location.href; var hrefLang = "x-default"; if(currentUrl.indexOf('us/en') > -1){ hrefLang = "en-US"; } $("#coral-id-105").each(function(index, value) { $("#coral-id-105 coral-selectlist-item[value="+ hrefLang +"]").prop('selected', true); }); }); I am getting undefined every time when I am trying to alert the current value.Note: I don't need to add value from datasource. I have static values just need to set one as default. @arunpatidar @suraj_kamdi
Remote Collaboration Keeps Lollypops UX Design Business Growing During COVID-19 by Adobe Blog Abstract For some design companies, the COVID-19 restrictions have been a cue to explore new ways of collaborating online – and a reminder that we should consider the needs of others in everything we do. But for other companies, life during lockdown has simply been an affirmation of the way in which they already work. Lollypop is one such firm. For seven years, the award-winning India-based UX and UI studio has practiced a philosophy of human-centered design with a portfolio of clients ranging from fintech firms to fitness apps. AEM 6.5.12.0 - Start Bulk Workflow on Assets using Workflow Packages by Sreekanth Choudry Nalabotu Abstract Goal Similar to Sites pages, add a Start Bulk Workflow action bar button in Assets Console to start a workflow on multiple assets as a package so there is only one inbox notification for all assets in the package (eg. when used with a Request for Activation workflow) Solution 1) Create a maven project for the extension eaem-assets-start-bulk-wf mvn -B org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-archetype-plugin:3.2.1:generate -D archetypeGroupId=com.adobe.aem -D archetypeArtifactId=aem-project-archetype -D archetypeVersion=36 -D aemVersion="6.5.10" -D appTitle="Experience AEM Assets Start Bulk WF" -D appId="eaem-assets-start-bulk-wf" -D groupId="apps.experienceaem.assets" -D frontendModule=none -D includeExamples=n -D includeDispatcherConfig=n 2) Create the Start Bulk Workflow button /apps/eaem-assets-start-bulk-wf/components/content/start-bulk-wf-but Read Full Blog AEM 6.5.12.0 - S
E-Mails in AEM Cloud Service by MARKUS BULLA Abstract Sending e-mails from AEM is pretty easy, right? For “classic” AEM 6.5 you just need the connection details of your mail server along with account credentials, add these as an OSGI configuration for the Day CQ Mail Service to your instance and you’re ready to go. (Curious why this service might be called “Day CQ”? Please refer to my post on AEM history.) If you are looking at AEM as a Cloud Service, things look a bit different. The official documentation outlines the setup pretty good. This article is going to guide you through the process step-by-step and provide some explanations. Step 1: OSGI Configuration Let’s start with the most simple part: telling AEM how to send e-mails. Similar to AEM 6.5, this is handled through an OSGI configuration for the Day CQ Mail Service. In contrast to classic AEM 6.5, there is no way to directly access the Apache Felix web console for AEM CS nor to add or change an OSGI config at runtime. So y

I supposed a picture says a thousand words so please look at the screenshots. I've included the current view and drew a rectangle on the important "issue".Some info/tests I've done:1. This is happening on both stage and prod. Both are running 6.5.12.2. I browsed a few folders inside /content/dam/staff/documents and the problem does not exists for the ones I've tried.3. I browsed other folders in /content/dam/staff and the problem exists there.4. I browser other folders in /content/dam (e.g. /content/dam/documents) and I cannot see the problem there.5. In card and list view, I looked at the error.log for both environments and I cannot see any errors that may be related (that's obvious to me).6. In list view, I get this error message (s7PublishStatus exists 4 times in asset.jsp) (NOTE: this only happens if the numbers does not match) An error occurred at line: XXX in the jsp file: /apps/dam/gui/coral/components/admin/contentrenderer/row/asset/asset.jsp s7PublishSta
I've a base page from where header/footer sections are created as experience fragments and embedded in the structure of the template.Working on a new requirement where I need to render the page content based on selectors in the page url.Eg: If the url is http://localhost:4502/content/lnccab/us/en/home.html, it loads entire content. If url is http://localhost:4502/content/lnccab/us/en/home.headless --> then it should not load header/footer components.I have tried create selector based scripts for header/footer components (Part of Experience fragments) with empty content to deliver this requirement, However these scripts are not being picked up while requesting the page with selector and page is rendering with the default content. Also noticed that selector is being considered while rendering the XF from the experience fragment console. Fragment is rendering with no content when calling the URL with headless selector.E.g. : http://localhost:4502/content/experience-fragments/lnccab/us/en
Out-of-the-box AEM / Sling instances do not index [nt:file] documents with text/plain mime type. I've created a custom Lucene index with a Tika configuration node like the one reported below (I tried different class, like TextAndCSVParser; something seems to be wrong. I can survive without full-text search on text/plain files but it's a matter of principle. Any ideas for solving this problem? <properties><parsers> <parser class="org.apache.tika.parser.defaultParser"> <mime>text/plain</mime></parser></parsers></properties>
How to Sync project code between AEM and Eclipse? by Heena Shirke Abstract 1. Install AEM Developer Tools from Eclipse Marketplace. 2. Convert modules such as ui.apps and ui.content to "Content Project". This can be done by right clicking on the module folder -> Configure -> Convert to Content Project. Similarly, convert core module to "Bundle Project". 3. Create a server configuration: Follow the video to create a server configuration. 4. Update the details in server configuration to match your AEM local instance. [Publish Modify Settings-> I personally set this to "Never Publish Automatically"] 5. Update the root directory for all modules marked as "Content Project". Thats it! Let's put this to test...(Ensure your AEM Instance is up before you start testing 🤪) In case you have any questions, please use the comment section below Read Full Blog How to Sync project code between AEM and Eclipse? One way to Create A Conditional Loop In AEM WorkFlow by Heena Shirke Abstract 1. Create a workflow variable - Example: loopcount The value of the workflow variable is maintained throughout the workflow instance 2. Increment the variable using Set Variable Step - Example: loopcount=loopcount+1 Changes to variable values affect only the instance of the process in which the change occurs. For example, when a workflow is initiated and variable data changes, the changes affect only that instance of the workflow. The changes do not affect other instances of the workflow that were initiated previously or are initiated subsequently. 3. Add rule a definition in Goto Step to define the exit criteria - Example: loopcount<10 The Goto Step allows you to specify the next step in the workflow model to execute, dependent on the result of a routing expression. You can use variables to define the routing expression using the expression editor. In this example, the Goto step specifies the
Steps to set a thumbnail image to AEM packages? by Heena Shirke Abstract This post explains how to set a thumbnail image to AEM content project modules. Step 1: Create a folder named "definition" under "ui.apps/src/main/content/META-INF/vault". Step 2: Paste thumbnail image(.png) inside the created folder. Name of the image should be thumbnail Step 3: Create a file ".content.xml" under definition folder. Step 4: Paste following content inside the created file. Step 5: Repeat the steps for all content project modules. Build and deploy the code. You should see a thumbnail for all the modules you made changes for.
