Adobe Experience Manager Guides

Hi We have a usecase where in we will have to convert the file extension from filename.xml/filename.dita (topic file) to filename.custom (custom extension) when we send it to TMS via translation connector. And we wanted to convert it back to filename.xml/filename.dita DITA topic post translation.

Hi,   we are trying to provide XML documentation permission to a different user other than admin.   As per the document it says as below (https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/en/xml-documentation-solution/3-8-6/XML-Documentation-for-Adobe-Experience-Manager_Installation-Configuration-Guide_EN.pdf) To give a user permission to use the XML Documentation solution’s all capabilities and generate output in a specific format, you can add that user to the Publishers group created by XML Documentation solution. This ensures that the user has full access to all XML Documentation solution publishing functionalities.   After adding the "publishers", the user is able to edit most of the functionalities, but below are a few functionalities which are not working as expected: Creating/Edit Folder Profiles (Path: Tools --> XML Documentation --> Folder Profiles) Add/Edit Conditions, Snippets and Glossary in XML Editor tool (http://localhost:4502/libs/fmdita/clientlibs/xml

Hi,   I have this source xml in a ditamap to be imported into Guides:             <topicref format="href" href="/app-catalog/example" scope="external">               <topicmeta>                  <linktext>Example text</linktext>               </topicmeta>            </topicref>   This content is not being built to AEM Sites, it goes to an another site in which the above href is a valid link. When this xml is uploaded the href is rewritten into an invalid GUID reference, like this: href="GUID-1cf61ad8-ca1b-4219-995b-1f84a98aae70-en.dita"   If I try to edit the href and put it back to the correct url, it rewrites it to this: href="../../../../../../../../app-catalog/example"   I tried adding "data:" or "http:/" at the beginning of the link and then Gu

Hi all,   I have a requirement to add x-cq-linkchecker attribute to an anchor tag conditionally (basically on the basis of the option selected by author in dialog). I am aware that to add this attribute in /apps/cq/xssprotection/config.xml. Following is the xml entry in anchor tag:<attribute name="x-cq-linkchecker"> <regexp-list> <regexp name="anything"/> </regexp-list> </attribute> The issue is that despite adding it to the config file in /apps/cq/xssprotection, I am still not able to use it in the anchor tag. Following is an example of how I have added it to the anchor tag:<ax-cq-linkchecker="${button.skipLinkChecker ? 'skip' : ''}"> Test anchor link </a> This is what I see on page:<a>Test anchor link</a>Note: I have checked that ${button.skipLinkChecker} contains a value and that there is no issue in this condition.   Thanks

I'm suddenly receiving an error message when trying to open a topic or ditamap via FrameMaker 16.04 connecting to AEM 4.01 via the connection manager. Connection to AEM is successful, but opening of topic/ditamap is not. I can connect to another AEM server instance and topics/ditamaps open without fail. I'm not sure if this is a FM issue or an AEM issue; posting here in hopes someone else has seen it. I've tried rebooting, restarting FM, resetting the AEM connection in FM via the conneciton manager. All fail.

FMPS does not seem to be processing index terms correctly. When the index terms are placed in the prolog, a blank link is generated in the PDF output that appears above the topic title. When the index terms are embedded within the text, the indexterms are processed like a carriage return was placed in the middle of a sentence. When index terms are entered as <indexterm>entry<indexterm>entry2</indexterm></indexterm>, nothing is generated in the index and also the above (blank lines in the PDF output). I know. AEM Guides v4.2 would eliminate all the FMPS issues. We're still trying to get it installed and working correctly on the test server before upgrading production.

Hi,  I am trying to generate AEM site from ditamap, but the site generation is getting failed because of OutofMemory Error. In DITA OT Profiles, I even increased memory allocation from 1024m to 3072m. Also increased the AEM heap space , but still the same error. @divrajsingh @AswiniLakshminarayanan

Hello, Is it possible in AEMaaCS Guides "Map dashboard" to configure Baselines and Generate content from Jenkins or desktop CLI? TIA

Hello, posting here since no response under Sites. We're new to AEM and recently deployed aem-project-archetype. Once the Cloud Manager site was up and running, I uploaded and installed packages copied from a different running/working environment "com.adobe.fmdita-aemaacs-2022.11.198-cp2fm-converted.zip and DITA-OT.zip". I also deployed a pipeline from the working environment's repo to the new environment. When I login to the author portal of the newly build environment, I see the "Guides" icon but when I select "Tools" there is no "Guides" on the selection menu. Is there some other package/config that I'm missing? TIA

Hi All,  Is it possible to add text component withing pages generated by AEM Guides? How can we add a link in Guides pages, which opens AEM custom form to get user data?   Thanks,

Hello -- When running the production pipeline to update to version 2023.2.235 of AEM Guides as a Cloud Service, I receive the following error:    Failed to execute goal com.github.eirslett:frontend-maven-plugin:1.12.0:npm (npm run prod) on project aemaacs-dox-project-ui-frontend: Failed to run task: 'npm run prod' failed. org.apache.commons.exec.ExecuteException: Process exited with an error: 2 (Exit value: 2) -> [Help 1]   We haven't run into this issue before when updating previous versions of AEM Guides as a Cloud Service. Can anyone tell me what needs to be done to fix this?

I have a requirement to create custom components for blog in AEM 6.5.Is this possible?

We use AEM on Premise 6.5.12 and upgrading our Active Directory server level from 2008 to 2016. Are there any known issues or risks with this change? Any LDAP configurations that need to change? The users are not provisioned through AD, it's just used for authentication.Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

The search feature works great to locate content, but there's no way (that I've found so far) to search for content, "find" it, then find out where in the folder structure that content is so that you can upload a new version. Has anyone figured out a way around that?   For example, I need to update some graphics. I have the GUID and search for the graphic file using the GUID. The Search gives me the results and the graphic is listed there. I can download the graphic, make my changes, but I cannot find any mechanism from the search results to "go to file location" so that I can drag/drop a new version.   Also, it would be nice to be able to check in a new version of a graphic by selecting that graphic and having a dialogue box pop up to upload the new version instead of having to drag/drop based on the file name.

Hi, OOB HTML5 plugin is removing the authored elements (p, div etc)  when the class attribute is defined for that element. Instead if p/div elements, <span class="undefined_element" is enclosed between the authored text Ex: add class/outputclass for p and div tags (<p class="p_test" otherprops="test" outputclass="telephone">507-123-1234</p>, <div class="divElement"> I am in div section</div>). Run the preset generation for the OOB HTML5 .   Authored p/div elements are stripping off in the generated html files, instead of authored content <span class="undefined_element"> is getting added if the class attributed is authored  Below is the screenshot of the sample dita content   Generated HTML output without HTML5 customizations     OOB Plugin Customizations: Commented below code block in the topic.xsl. Below is the screenshot of generated HTML5 page after OOB Customization.    P/Div tags got stripp

Hello,   We are trying to integrate vue-router into our App that is used in an AEM INT environment. However the router object does not seem to be initialised, custom elements such as `<router-view>` are not being parsed. Any suggestions?Everything works fine in our local dev environment.   Thanks.

How can I hyperlink to an external website from an image in AEM as a Cloud Service? I select the image, click Insert Cross Reference | Web Link, and drop in the URL. The software appears to let me add the hyperlink but when I publish to a PDF, the link appears and the image is gone.

Hi, We use Component group in Classic UI and the order is different than the Side panel in TouchUI. Can these be in the same order without any custom code? Thanks!

I have a word document (.docx) file with Title, Headings and paragraphs in each heading.   Example:    I am looking to convert the word document to site and/or PDF.   How do I ingest a non-dita file or a word document to AEM to convert it as a site or PDF?   Can someone help me with document and step by step process on how can I achieve my requirement please? Thanks in advance!

Do we need to create a new search UI for users who aren't authors in order for them to find the content after it has been transformed into DITA?How will DITA content/documents be accessible to outside users that want to search for information within the document but are not authors?

Hi,   Can you please help with AEM Guides add on package for AEM Cloud service local SDK.    Thanks Narendra

We have added the required field (Required boolean true) on dialog and it's throwing an error message on dialog (I.e. local instance) but the error message is not displayed on cloud manager.

Is there a way to upload graphics other than drag/drop?   For example, if an existing graphics file doesn't have a human-readable file name (GUID from another system), we know that the file name of the new version must be identical for drag/drop to work, detect the file already exists, and ask about creating a new version of the existing file.   It would be much easier and more precise if we could select the specific graphics file we'd like to update, then select an option to upload/check in a new version regardless of the name of the file on our hard drive. Is that an option? I don't see anything command like that in the Assets > Files view and I didn't find anything like that in the AEM Guides instructions.

Hello!   We are in the midst of a implementation and are looking to test an Iframe embed using the Core Embed component.    When in AEM author we are able to add the HTML to the Author interface and it looks like this: <iframe class="jebbit-iframe" src="https://jebbit.com/nve0msu0?L=Owned+Web&deferred=true" seamless="true" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen style="width:100%;min-height:600px;" onload="function embedJebbit(t){function e(t){var e='attach'===t?window.addEventListener:window.removeEventListener;e('DOMContentLoaded',i,!1),e('load',i,!1),e('scroll',i,!1),e('resize',i,!1)}var n=document.querySelector(t);function i(){(function(t){var e=t.getBoundingClientRect(),n=t.clientHeight/2,i=t.clientWidth/2;return e.top>=0&&e.left>=0&&e.top<=(window.innerHeight||document.documentElement.clientHeight)-n&&e.left<=(window.innerWidth||document.documentElement.clientWidth)-i})(n)&&n.conten
