Adobe Experience Manager Assets

Hello,I am struggling to understand why as an administrator I am not able to clink on an asset in Content Hub and open it in the DAM to edit. Is some development required?Content Hub users often share links to assets with the Content Librarian, requesting edits of those assets. What is the easiest way to find and edit those assets? As searching by file name is not a time productive option. Thanks, Natasha

Hello Community,We're looking for suggestions and lessons learned from anyone who has performed metadata updates at a very large scale in AEM 6.5 On-Prem Assets. Our RequirementAEM 6.5 On-Prem ~5 Million Assets (50 Lakhs) Repository Size: ~40 TB Need to update ~20 metadata properties on existing assets The update source will come from a mapping/reference file Important: The requirement is to append/update metadata values without overwriting existing values. Existing metadata must be preserved wherever applicable.

If your DAM serves brand assets to other apps through delivery URLs, “approved” and “public” aren’t the same thing. Dynamic Media with OpenAPI capabilities now offers ways to limit who can fetch an asset. Here’s what Adobe’s documentation says, with the status and caveats marked.1. What it is (existing capability, not a 2026 launch)Dynamic Media with OpenAPI is a set of search and delivery APIs on AEM Assets as a Cloud Service. Each approved asset gets a delivery URL, and consuming apps reference that URL rather than copying binaries. Adobe says changes to approved assets appear in delivery URLs within a 10-minute CDN TTL. It supports on-the-fly image modifiers (width, height, crop, format, smart crop and others), WebP, and HLS/DASH video. DM Prime customers get only the basic image modifiers.2. Two ways to restrict deliverya) By time window (documented how-to). Set an On Time and/or Off Time under “Scheduled (de) activation” in asset properties. Before On Time, the asset stays inactiv

Hi guys,                 We have a use case where we need to perform bulk updates on assets in AEMaaCS. For example, when we update around 100 assets in bulk, we expect the corresponding events to be triggered and received by our webhook.Events for ref - Asset Delivery Ready, Asset processing completedTo support this, we have configured a project in the Adobe Developer Console (Adobe I/O) and registered an event for our development AEM as a Cloud Service environment, with a webhook configured to receive the events. However, during bulk asset updates, we are encountering the following issues:The webhook requests are returning HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) The response body contains the following error: “Too many webhook requests from this IP, please try again later” The response also includes “retryAfter: 15 minutes” Adobe I/O displays a warning that the webhook has been disabled because it is either unreachable or verification has failed   Our questions: Is there a rate limit on Adobe I

We have a requirement to disable the Download option in Content Hub for specific assets based on a metadata value. Disable or hide Download button when ActivationTarget = ContentHub, and isReferenceAsset=TRUE Keep the asset’s metadata, preview, and reference information visible.

Hi team, I am trying to configure permissions for a user so that they have create access but not delete access. I have granted the following privileges: - jcr:versionManagement- jcr:modifyProperties- jcr:read- jcr:addChildNodes- crx:replicate- jcr:lockManagement- jcr:nodeTypeManagement With these permissions, the Create button appears and works as expected in Admin View. However, the same permissions do not work in Assets View — the user is unable to create assets there. Note: If I replace the above privileges with jcr:all, it works correctly in both Admin View and Assets View. However, jcr:all also grants delete access, which I need to avoid. Could you please advise which additional privileges (or paths) are required for create functionality to work in Assets View without granting delete permissions? Thanks,Asmit

I uploaded a PDF to AEM Assets with Dynamic Media enabled. A thumbnail is automatically generated, but the crop doesn't look good. I uploaded a custom image rendition in the required dimensions, however AEM continues to display the Dynamic Media-generated thumbnail instead of the custom rendition. How can I configure AEM/Dynamic Media to use my custom thumbnail image for the PDF asset and override the default generated thumbnail?

Hi All,I just wanted to confirm is there any upper limit w.r.t size when we are moving data with AEM Bulk Import tool. I think there is no limit and we can move TB’s of data in one run but still wanted to confirm.

Hi,In the image properties, we have the Review Status (dam:status) and Approval Target (dam:activationTarget) fields. When I set:Review Status = Approved Approval Target = Deliverythe image becomes available in the Delivery tier as expected. However, when I change:Review Status = Rejected Approval Target = Content Hubthe image is no longer available in the Delivery tier. This is not the expected behavior. The image should be rejected only for Content Hub and should remain available in the Delivery tier.Has anyone encountered this issue before? If so, could you please share the resolution or any configuration changes required to achieve the expected behavior? Thanks,Salma

Hi,We are using aem 6.5 and aem forms as well. (running on windows servers)we have requirement from client to generate a file and not to save it on dam, instead if it can be copied to an external shared folder location. Do you know if this is a good practice to save a file on shared location from Production and how to achieve this (with respect to permissions) I have seen this link: Share assets using a link | Adobe Experience Manager, but I am not sure if this will be accepted, as the older systems are already using the shared location to access the file.

The August 2026 AEM as a Cloud Service release (2026.8.0) had a lot for Assets teams. Several of the more interesting items are Beta or Limited Availability, so each one below carries its status.Listed under main release sections (no Beta or LA label on the page)1. C2PA metadata on renditions (Assets, and Dynamic Media with OpenAPI and Scene7). Renditions now carry C2PA metadata based on the original asset. It records the asset's origin, edit history, and whether generative AI was used. Two JCR properties are added: dam:hasC2PAManifest and dam:isAiGenerated. Adobe says customers should validate regulatory compliance themselves, and advises against relying on the manual Gen AI label where C2PA is available. If you publish AI-generated imagery, this is worth testing now. It isn't a compliance guarantee.2. Assets Insights moves to the Analytics 2.0 API (action required). Assets Insights now uses the Adobe Analytics 2.0 API with OAuth Server-to-Server authentication. You must reconfigure

For certain use cases we have been using DMWOAPI links. One of these was adding them to the product information in google merchant center. It seems that Google is unable to retrieve these links and gives an error message. We had to swap the DM links to normal published DAM links from our domain. Is that the ootb way DMWOAPI should work? I saw somewhere that creating a custom domain for the DM links would be a solution, however that would mean manually replacing all our existing links. If anyone faced a similar issue and has other ideas, I would really appreciate. Thanks!

We have an external system that needs to periodically access AEM Assets metadata multiple times per day. It’s only for assets matching certain pre-defined criteria (specific metadata values and folder structure) What's the recommended approach for this use case? Are there specific APIs, connectors, or export you'd recommend?

Does it bother anyone else how the versions are labeled in AEM? I have no idea which one is which. Instead of v1, v2, v3, etc they keep appearing as New Version 1.0, New Version 1.1, New Version 1.0.0. What on earth do any of those mean? Cant these be listed as Original, Version 2, Version 3, etc. and then show the date. they were uploaded and by whom? That is how the average human brain would read these things. Is that a setting I can change or is this the standard operating procedure of the system?

The Vision:In current digital campaigns, optimizing content in specific sizes and formats for each platform (Web, App, Social Media) is time-consuming. We envision an intelligent workflow that automatically handles platform-specific rendering and synchronizes real-time performance analytics, all derived from a single master asset.Key Features:Context-Aware Auto Resizing: Adapting content to various device aspect ratios while preserving the focal point and text-safe zones.Dynamic Micro-Copy Suggestions: Generating headline variations on-the-fly by analyzing target audience and platform data.Closed-Loop Feedback: Automatically providing recommendations to optimize underperforming creatives by leveraging direct performance data from Adobe Analytics.Impact:This will reduce the time spent on routine tasks by at least 40% for designers and marketers, while significantly accelerating the speed of campaign launches.

We have migrated assets  to AEM Assets and need to maintain and expose relationships between related assets.Historically, these relationships are stored in AEM using the following properties:Related Derived: ./jcr:content/related/derived/sling:members/sling:resources Related Others: ./jcr:content/related/others/sling:members/sling:resources Related Source: ./jcr:content/related/sources/sling:members/sling:resourcesThe relationships are visible in AEM Assets Author, but we would also like users to see the related assets when viewing an asset in Content Hub, ideally from the Asset Details page. Could you please advise:Does Content Hub currently support displaying AEM’s native Related Assets relationships (Source, Derived, Others)? Can the existing relationship properties above be exposed or configured on the Content Hub Asset Details page? If native related-asset relationships are not supported by Content Hub, what is the recommended approach for representing these relationships — for ex

We have approximately 10,000 assets that were migrated to AEM Assets as a Cloud Service. We now need to bulk update metadata on these existing assets, including metadata required to make the assets available in Content Hub.We are evaluating the best approach for performing this update at this scale. One option we are considering is CSV Metadata Import. However, the Adobe documentation mentions a maximum batch size of 100 assets for metadata import. We would like to understand whether this is only the internal processing batch size or whether there is a recommended/maximum number of asset rows that should be included in a single CSV import. For this use case, what would be the recommended  approach for updating metadata on ~10,000 existing assets? Any guidance or experience with similar large-scale metadata updates would be appreciated.

Am I able to bulk remove a property from a field. Heres an example use case:I have an expiration date set for 75 assets. Licensing has been reworked to give us universal rights in perpetuity so we no longer need an expiration for those. Am I able to select all 75 assets and remove the expiration date or do I have to do that 1 by 1?

Hi, I'm facing an issue in AEM as a Cloud Service where asset references are not being displayed in the DAM UI under References → Local References, even though the assets are actively used on pages.I have authored images on pages and verified that they are being referenced correctly by components. However, when I open the asset in DAM and navigate to:Asset Details → References → Local Referencesthe referencing pages are not displayed. The issue occurs for almost all assets in our DAM.Interestingly, there is one specific folder where assets are showing references correctly in the UI.I compared the assets but nothing is different.  Also when i call /bin/wcm/references.json?path=/content/dam/path/to/image.jpg it returns the pages where the asset is referenced. But UI is not showing

Hello,We have recently upgraded .glb files (3D assets) to AEM 6.5 LTS with Dynamic Media integration enabled. The file type is supported, as confirmed by the teams.public.onecdn.static.microsoft/evergreen-assets/safelinks/2/atp-safelinks.html.Current Status:The 3D viewer is working correctly However, thumbnails are not being generated for these assets in AEM Thumbnails are visible when viewing the same assets in a YouTube video  Question: How can we ensure that thumbnails are also generated for .glb files in AEM 6.5 LTS?

Hi All ,We have dev , stage and prod instance of contenthub now we create all filters and config in dev environment .Now we need to migrate the same in stage and production instance. Is there any export mechanism to get this done , as there is no official documentation regarding this . ThanksHimanshu

Has anyone managed to create a smart collection in Content Hub?I can not find an OOTB method of creating a smart collection in Content Hub - is this being developed? It used to be possible to publish a smart collection from AEM Assets to Brand Portal but I can see this integration is not possible with Content Hub.  Thanks
