Does anyone know if it's possible to export custom prompt info (labels and conditions)?
I have a lengthy custom prompt that I need to use in another report and was hoping to avoid copying/pasting all the values (the original is a task report, and the one I'm creating is a project report, so I can't simply make a copy of the report).
Thanks!

I feel your pain, Kristen, having just been through a similar exercise myself.
I'm afraid that there is no ability to export/copy custom prompt info, other than via manually copying the values one by one.
Best Regards,
Rich.

I figured that was probably the case. Oh, well.

You "kind of" can export custom prompt info. It does take some real reporting (or Workfront, or both) chops though, so you have to really want it. You'll notice that when you export a kickstart of your task report, one of the files that comes through is a report_xxxxxxx.properties file. This file, when you open it, contains a bunch of lines all starting with the word "prompt". If you were to upload a project report kickstart with this file (and provided that all the fields continue to make sense for your project report), it might be possible.
i.e. a zip file where the kickstart spreadsheet correctly references the properties file. And if the properties file for the task report refers to project:plannedCompletionDate, you would have had to remove the "project:" part.
I've been able to download and upload report kickstarts that contain filters, views and groupings, in this way... just have never done one with prompts and never tried to crosspollinate into a different object report.
Definitely a neat party trick to do, though.
Interesting. The kickstart report import looks to be a bit beyond my abilities at present (at the very least, I'd have to sit down and spend some time with what I see in the export files), but at a minimum I should be able to extract the prompt info from that report properties file without too much trouble. Thanks!

No problem. I just went ahead and downloaded and uploaded a kickstart to see if it could be done, and it definitely can be. I don't have anything I feel comfortable converting from a task to a project, so I just randomly did a user report that had prompts on it, and was able to upload it into the sandbox. A few things I found:
* on the spreadsheet -- you can pretty much delete all the tabs except for the PTLSEC Report tab. This tab is the only one you need for your report kickstart. (you can download a random project report to get the data you would need to upload another project report)
* every report kickstart needs a view. It won't work without one. You will get a view file with your project report download. You can rename and use that one. You just want to use the name "view_<make up an ID>.properties" and then use your made up ID in your kickstart spreadsheet under the setViewID column
* your prompt file should be called "report_<make up another ID>.properties" and then use this second made-up ID in your kickstart spreadsheet under the ID column.
* Make sure to remember to set your isNew column to TRUE, as well as updating any other column that needs it.
* Make sure all three files are a zip file and upload the zip file.
