Workfront Community,
We're considering moving people from the Light license level to Contributor and was wondering just how limited of a view do users with the Contributor license have with tasks? Do they have access to the documents tab or updates tab within tasks? We would want those users to still be able to access documents in tasks if they were set as an approver for the task.

Hi @Jared_Mauch
for one, a Contrib license cannot close a task (set it to completed). Other than that, depending on how you configure the access level, they have View access to docs etc.
Test it for yourself: Create a dummy user and give them Contrib license, then Log-in-as that user
Adobe documents the details here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/administration-and-setup/add-users/access...

Hi Sven,
I tested this out yesterday with a user in the sandbox. Sometimes the users that this change would affect are assigned as an approver of a task approval. I built that scenario out, logged in as that user, and could only see the overview section of the task. The entire panel of tabs on the left was missing. Gone, not collapsed. They would need access to the documents and updates tabs in this situation. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing that could give users with the contributor license access to those tabs on tasks or this this some sort of bug?

Hi @Jared_Mauch
Can you check the Layout template the test user is assigned to?
On my contributor I do see the left rail options.

Hi @Sven-iX
That test user didn't have a layout template applied to their profile. I've now seen two other users with the same access level and no layout template applied to their profiles either, but they have all the left rail options.
I've put in a ticket with Workfront Support for this.
