Assigning Tasks to Users in Bulk

So we use a lot of templates here, as we have a lot of "cookie cutter" projects. When we create the templates, we assign the tasks to specific groups within a skill set. Is there an easy way to go to a project and be able to assign all tasks assigned to team A to person A, without having to go to each task and make that assignment? Ian Plamondon Viasat Texas

Yes there are actually a couple of ways to do it. You can simply select all the tasks you want to change (select the first one – hold Shift – select the last one), then hit the Edit button, then Assignment, and make your changes. The other way is to open the project - More tab > Staffing > Scheduling > Swap button, then swap out what you want. Yet another thing I do in on-object reports. I have a prompted report for each role/team, then you can select all and assign to each grouping. -- Melinda Layten, Senior Consultant Work Management Improvement CapabilitySource Phone: (484) 505-6855 site: www.capabilitysource.com email: melinda.layten@capabilitysource.com - we simplify your work so you can run your business -

Ian, just wondering if you found a way to do this.. assign tasks, but the templates are set up with teams; looks to me like the bulk scheduling functionality only works if the templates are built with roles Jim Grey Lincoln National Corporation
