Table Format in Custom Forms

Hello,

i was just wondering whether it is planned in the near future to be able to implement a more Table-like structure in Custom Forms. The Custom Fields are nice, but they are not really fit for a structured collection of larger amounts of Data.

This example you could Display with the Fields "Packing Box 1", "size/cm Box 1",...,"Packing Box 9",... and hide empty lines.

If you want to show it in an report you will have to create 9 x 5 = 35 Colums (For a Table with 9 Lines and 5 Columns)

Also if you want to export the Custom Form it will look like this: Instead of a Tabular Structure it is just a List.

I would just like to know whether this has a priority to you - of course attaching an Excel is also an Option- but using the already built in Custom Form Feature would be a plus.

Kind Regards,

Leonhard Wienhold

Hi Leonhard,

If you have the funds, you may want to reach out to Doug at AtAppStore.   He has done some great things with us allowing data to be displayed in table formats.   We have several different formats of data that we worked closely with Doug to show data in a way our company is used to seeing it.

Because Workfront is built in a certain way, we prefer to use workarounds to avoid building "sets" of custom fields like Packing Name 1, Packing Name 2, Packing Name 3, Gross Weight 1, Gross Weight 2, Gross Weight 3.

In this example, I would rather try and work with the users so that this data is reflected at the issue level of the project. Each issue would represent one packing item, and would have one set of name, size, weight, and contents. The issue page on the project would represent the packing spreadsheet and would be downloaded that way.
