Workfront out of office notification

Description - when marking your own PTO in Workfront, at that point to also offer the opportunity to create an out of office notification if you are tagged, messaged or sent requests etc within Workfront - a notification to send to the originator that you are not available to process their ask or make comments etc.

Why is this feature important to you - we encourage all project related comms to be in the relevant projects. If you are not aware of people not being in the office/at work then assumption is that they are there to receive the message.

How would you like the feature to work - as an email out of office notification.

Current Behaviour - if you have not heard from someone after a while, need to investigate if they are working by checking email out of office notifications.

This would be a great opportunity to finish the integration with Outlook and have 2-way communication. Currenly the Home area can read your Outlook calendar but that's it. It should write back to the calendar as well as block Workfront time for meetings in your Outlook and read OOO time.

I do not know what I did there, but wanted to reply to @KellieGWAB.

It seems such a simple idea considering the PTO data is there and (correct me if I am wrong) also the yellow warning when assigning someone when they are on PTO.

Hopefully one day!

@AbelleWoo - Most of the ideas out there are for various functionality types around the same concept but a simple auto-reply would be great. We don't use tagging much where I'm at currently but I know in my previous role it would have been such a help especially when you had an urgent question or update that needed to be made.

Please please make this an option - it doesn't seem like it would be a hard thing to do! If someone marks their PTO in WF for an auto-notification to get out saying they are out. Would be even cooler if it synced up with Outlook so you didn't have to do it twice, but anything would help. We have so many users and many people out of the office that it's impossible to know when tagging them if they got the message or not.

We desperately need this - with thousands of users, and hundreds of tags for creative updates a day, there needs to be a way of telling a commenter that the person they are tagging is out of office and who else to tag in their place for assistance. This needs to happen in the tool, while a user is using it. It renders comments going no where and teams unserved when someone goes on leave, and it is strange that comments cannot be delegated function like issues or tasks, plus an out of office message comes up like you can have in other programs or email.

When tagging users there should be a some type of status flag on their name/icon that can say on PTO until XX or away of leave or even a custom tag like please tag the @xyz team to ensure prompt replies.

If Workfront is going to be the hub of all work, we need to know if we are tagging or assigning a user that is away is from the office and a better option is ABC.  This is a staple of other ways we communicate in a virtual office (teams/slack/email) and is a tragic oversite in Workfront.

Hi @AbelleWoo ,

Thank you for submitting the idea and explaining the use case behind it.

We recognize the value this addition could bring to our product. However, due to its substantial scope, we are unable to commit to a specific timeline for prioritization at this moment.
