Operation Level Variables in Workfront Fusion

We often require setting and getting variables in Fusion Scenarios, especially with complicated flow controls. However, it seems if you set a variable it's scope is for ALL operations. So when processing 10 projects, they will all have the same value if you aren't careful. We would like to have the option to set the lifecycle scope to "Operation" to ensure it only applies to a specific operation.
