Recycle Bin

If you have accidentally deleted a Project along with a couple of years worth of tasks, comments and documents you should be able to restore it and have all the information back - including documents, custom forms, expenses, update streams, hours etc.

The recycle bin should have an automatic deletion function. E.g. automatically delete items in the recycle bin when they reach N number of days there (similar to trash bins in email inboxes). This would regulate and mantain space consumption.

I voted for this knowing that recycle bin functionality is coming with the Q1 release. What needs to be added ASAP is the ability to restore more than one task or issue at once!

One of the biggest fear in the teams using WF is to move, delete or update by mistake a task in a project planning... Yes, an 'undo' button could be a real advance in WF appropriation.

We love the new recycle/restore functionality, but it would be great to have the ability to restore the hour type back to it's original.

When you delete a task and restore the task, any time logged to that specific task moves to "project time" instead of back on the restored task that it was originally logged to. It's important for us to see how much time is logged to each individual task and for reporting purposes (planned vs actuals).

Thank you for your feedback!

As of the 2017.1 release in April, this feature is available to System Administrators, who can now easily restore the deleted Projects/Tasks/Issues within the Setup area. All documents, custom forms, expenses, update streams, hours will be restored together with the objects. For the hour deletion, you have an option to control what happens with the hours after deletion, and how it will affect the restoration. Please see the following help article https://support.workfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001642488-Configuring-How-Hours-Are-Managed-When... .

Our next step is allowing System Administrators to restore deleted documents, as well as perform bulk restore of all these items.

We know an “Undo” functionality is highly requested (like reverting actions on the projects). We are evaluating where in the system this is feasible and most needed.

I'm trying to figure out why predecessors are removed when restoring tasks.

In the recycle bin, it would be EXTREMELY helpful if the tasks were listed in chronological order so that when they are restored, they restore correctly. Plus it would be nice if you could restore tasks in bulk instead of individually.

I just restored 39 tasks and some are not under the original Parent. The original assignment and predecessor is missing as well.

Thank you!

Restoring 30 items at a time is cumbersome and time-consuming. Has the "bulk restore" feature been added yet? Better yet or in addition to, the ability to trash the trash at specified intervals ie; 30 days 60 days, 90 days etc...this would be excellent for managing storage.
