Allow deactivation of Topics

Description - Add a toggle switch to queue topics that allows deactivation of the topic.

Why is this feature important to you - When we need to revise a queue by way of omitting a topic, we have two options: delete the topic, which deletes the associated data, or rebuild the queue. A deactivation switch for topics would make queue administration much simpler and efficient. Additionally, it would bring the functionality in parity with many other objects in Workfront.

How would you like the feature to work - Similar to many other objects in Workfront, there would be a simple toggle switch to deactivate a topic. This would hide the topic from general view, but retain detail.

Current Behaviour - We cannot deactivate topics.

Currently there is no feature to hide a queue topic / topic group only deletion. It would be great if there was a way to hide / deactivate queue topics or topic groups.

Hi @MoniqueEvans The idea you referenced was declined by our product team in January 2024. Given the age of this idea, I'd recommend creating a new idea and merging this one into it for maximum visibility. You can also bring this up during our next joint Community Advisor and Product Management call!

Hi @MoniqueEvans, I'd recommend @Lyndsy-Denk submit a new idea so that I can merge this one into it. Going this route will increase the likelihood that the idea will be re-reviewed by our Product team, though I cannot say whether it will be considered at this time.

Agree that this would be a nice enhancement.

Until then, we make do with recording the queue topic and breadcrumb to calculated fields on the issue form with an expression that preserves the value in the event the original queue topic gets deleted. That field in the below example is titled "SYS Queue Topic Selected."

IF(ISBLANK({DE:SYS Queue Topic Selected}),{queueTopic}.{name},{DE:SYS Queue Topic Selected})
