Re: Is there any way for generated "history" fields to be editable?
-WE
- Workfront 05-10-2022
If you are talking about "tracked" fields (whenever a field's value is changed, the system notes that change in the object's update stream), then the answer is "no." The function of tracked fields is to enable auditing. If users - even if limited to admins only - had the ability to delete or edit these entries, that would weaken the integrity of the platform because there's no guarantee that someone can't go back and cover their tracks by changing or removing an entry. So even if a user has good...

Re: Journal Entry Report filtered to ONLY Project Scope
-WE
- Workfront 05-10-2022
In my tests, updating the priority of a project created a journal entry without a scope value, but updating the priority of a task created an entry with a scope value. Therefore, you should be able to filter "Scope is blank". I did not need a Change Type rule to return the correct list of entries. fieldName=priority fieldName_Mod=cicontains entryDate=$$TODAYb-2w entryDate_Mod=between entryDate_Range=$$TODAY objObjCode_Mod=isblank project:status=CUR project:status_Mod=in If your JE reports aren't...

This column in your Time Off report will show the duration of time in Hours if less than 8 hours, or in Days if more than 8 hours: displayname=Durationtextmode=truevalueexpression=IF((DATEDIFF({startDate},{endDate})*-1)<.3333,CONCAT((DATEDIFF({startDate},{endDate})*-1*24)," Hours"),CONCAT(ROUND((DATEDIFF({startDate},{endDate})*-1),0)," Days"))valueformat=HTML

Re: Help: Text Mode for Conditional Formatting on Current Task Details in a Project Report
-WE
- Workfront 04-10-2022
Hi Sarah, The text mode used to display task-level data in a project report is called a collection. Unfortunately, collections have limited controls and are incompatible with conditional formatting. If the conditional formatting is critical to your report, then you might consider using a task report instead, and grouping by project.

Re: Calculated field - Calculate on first instance of text and not change after
-WE
- Workfront 30-09-2022
To lock a calculated field to its first value, it needs to reference itself to see if a value has already been written. In your example, it would look like this (presuming the name of your calculated field is something like "Source"): IF(ISBLANK({DE:Source}),IF({queueTopicID}="6335e54d00928f36d0689d4974d7f342","Email","Form"),{DE:Source}) The logic is: "if the calculated field "Source" is blank, give it a value using this IF statement. If "Source" is not blank (because a value has already been w...

PSA: API version 15 is available
-WE
- Workfront 30-09-2022
There is zero mention of it in the 22.4 Release Notes, but I noticed today that version 15 (scheduled for the first half of 2022...) is finally available in the API Explorer. I found a What's new in API version 15 article for those who are interested. There are a few new object types, many new fields and actions. Thankfully no endpoints appear to have been deprecated.

Re: Using Workfront outlook plug-in shared mail box
-WE
- Workfront 30-09-2022
The Outlook Connector must be authorized to read the contents of the mailbox, and the process through which that authorization is granted doesn't appear to support shared accounts. The process is called OAuth, which includes a "scope" rule. Scopes are a list of the actions that the connector/app is allowed to perform - like "read the contents of a user's email" or "send an email on behalf of the user." The scope of the Workfront Outlook connector only applies to a user's account and does not exte...

Re: Is there a field in an issue to see if it has been converted to a project?
-WE
- Workfront 29-09-2022
The text mode shared by Randy is useful for understanding to which project an issue was converted. It sounds like you just want a filter on your issue report to show a list of issues that have not yet been converted or vice versa. Use Resolving Object ID is Blank to see issues not yet converted; or Resolving Object ID is not Blank to see issues that have been converted. Alternatively you can use the same logic in a conditional formatting rule to highlight issues if they haven't yet been converte...

Re: Make fields optional on custom form for export
-WE
- Workfront 27-09-2022
You might consider creating a 2nd version of your existing brief, call it something like "Agency Brief" and add only the fields from your internal brief that you want to share with your agency. If you attach this as a secondary form to your project, all the values will automatically populate with whatever values are entered in your internal brief, so there is no duplicate entry that needs to occur. Then, you can select just "Agency Brief" when performing your custom form export.

Re: Text calculated custom fields CONCAT separator options
-WE
- Workfront 26-09-2022
For anyone else referencing this in the future, you'll need to look for a unicode reference website to look for those particular unicode characters, copy them from that site, then paste into your calculation. Since they're invisible, it doesn't do much good to paste them in this thread. https://unicode-table.com/en/200B/ https://unicode-table.com/en/000A/
