Awesome, Dave!  Thanks for the feedback.  This is where my head was going and about the only use case I could see (you can do most of this now via Fusion and the Marketo connector they have) that made sense.  Thanks for helping me validate.

Pam if you remove a stage, like 2, from your proof workflow, when stage 1 completes it will notify stage 3 folks as usual.  There's also an option in the proof workflow to activate stage if you wanted to make stage 3 folks able to take action before stage 1 folks finish.

Julie, I don't believe its possible. Workers need the ability to edit/contribute to update information across a task which unfortunately means some of the fields you noted that are part of tasks. 

Have any of you integrated between your Workfront and Marketo environments?  Doesn't matter if its through Fusion or other connections, would you share the use case you were solving for?
