I would also love to be able to schedule reports based on selected segments... that could be the next logical progression of this... if we can link to a pre-filtered version of a report, then surely we can schedule PDFs using those specific parameters....

I looked up a few of the IP addresses listed in an IP lookup tool... it indicated that the domain identifies as "akaquill.net"   If that holds true for all of them, can you see if Adobe has captured that in the Domain dimension? This almost sounds like your developer changed the code of the plugins... Like @bjoern__koth , I have never seen the use of "new function()" in any of the Adobe provided code...    Are you sure these are specifically plugins? Or maybe this is being used in custom code (data Elements or Actions, etc)...

I am going to reach out to an Adobe person who works on documentation and ask him to update that... I don't want other people to get confused by it!
