adobe support also had a hard time trying to test and reproduce, i think they did not have access to creative cloud products to test it out, it was put on hold from our end a few months back, hope you will be able resolve your issue

Hi, using the preview -> proof email feature, email renders fine in preview for select test profile, but when a proof is sent using the same test profile the delivery fails, its hard to see what is causing this error, the status is just "Failed" without further info.
