Your Code works 99.9% you only have a typo in the Nial O'Donoval's name (in the names list of the signature JS and the global variable). Correcting that it changes the password. What i wanted to say with the "the PDF must be able to save itself into file (form fill-in)." is that Dynamic PDF don't allow being saved with data (from data or global variables) by default, it has to be enabled,. You can either do it in Adobe Pro or using Livecycle Reader Extensions (both are payed solutions). If you do...

I have now idea how to access this kind of information in a elegant and efficient way, but would like to know. The way i do, but its surely not the best way (or even close), is to creat a short lived process in Workbench that extractes the infomation i need and then access my custom made process through either EJB or WS as a service. Not the best way, but its the only way i was able to get any information from Content Services.

Please confirm if the binding value of the field that ins't incluided in the XML is not "none", this is, the binding value must be "normal" or "global".

The Global Variables don't have the rawValue attribute, but you can access their value from de the value attribute (myGlobalVar.value).Also, this variables behave just like a normal textField, this is, in order to make your changes to its value persistente, the PDF must be able to save itself into file (form fill-in).Also note that what you are doing is a huge security risk, because if i open you PDF with Acrobat Pro or run it through Reader extensions and enable export data feature, i'll be abl...

I think the porpuos of that is to add new components to the workbench process building habilities, not so much to be used as the first option to return multiple values.I say this because that would make your process developers into Java developers (mandatory) and clearly thats what workbench is trying to prevent. Also if that was to be the 1st option then Adobe's Output among other services (that use one complex object as the return object, but uses 3 or 4 in/out parameters) would not be complie...

One last try.You help would really be welcome in finding out the root cause of the difference in behaviour between reader 8 and 9 in this matter (bug or change).I have no idea what documentation to read (since i've read the launch documentation and change list documentation) about reader 9, i've contacted Adobe 3 days ago (and the answer is silence, like usuall) and have no clear thought about what to say (without taking a huge risk by giving a uninformed answer) about this issue.Thanks.

Usually i only have one output parameter, but use *as many as i need* in/out parameters.Basicly you define the variable (in workbench) as in/out and when LC:ES generates the service you're able to pass an object as an input parameter and after the invocation ends, the object is updated.Just like if you where passing an object by ref in c.

Sorry but no.I have a really hard time controling the validation events in everything Adobe. When i want to ensure the validation/messages and/or custom actions based on those action i use a javascript custom code to control the validation.Pros:- I have a hell of a lot more controlCons:- It implies creating javascript to validate each and every field i want to see.Not nearly as elegant as what you're doing, and it takes a bit of coding to get it to work, but it works. If you want i can post an exa...

Add '&blob=base64' (without the quotes) to your WDSL url.Example: http://your:server:8080/soap/services/YOURSERVICE?WSDL&blob=base64.I should work.

If its not possible (i don't know if it is or not) you can always use Forms ES to extract the XML data from a PDF Xfa.form.

You're probably using Workbench, i would suggest you to post in the Workbench forum.I believe workbench saves all resources (xdp, pdf, images, fragments, custom components and so on) on a resource DB that allows for colaborive work, instead of a physical file, but to be honest i have no idea here in with tables it is stored and how you can retrieve it manually. If you're using Designer then the xdp file is in your local machine (the machine from here Desinger was launched)

I use a similar command and it work.xfa.host.setFocus(xfa.resolveNode("CompanyName["+(CompanyName.instanceManager.count-1)+"].CHOOSE_A_FIELD_TO_SET_FOCUS"));I haven't tested this on your form, but it should work. Just one not, your javascript must run on client.

Yes, you can use the setFocus (on the new instance) method after you add the new instance to the form.

If you want to diferenciate the fields, then you should change the background of the fields (or some other aspect) because you won't be able to control the end-user enviroment. He might have highlight off, he might not even be using Adobe Reader or anyother reason that you cannot control in form design. But at least this problem is solved. Good. Edit: uploaded one example, don't use my color scheme because its really bad.

Calculated - Read-Only fields don't highlight, only Calculated - User-May-Overwrite ones.I don't know the German version of Adobe Reader, but, acording to Google, the translation should be "Markieren Felder"?!Also, in the View Menu check if you have Reading Mode active, if so unselect it (it hides the side menu).
