Hello,
I created a campaign in AJO targeting profiles based on a streaming audience. However, I noticed that even after the profiles were updated in AEP, the emails sent via the campaign still reflect the older profile data. Is this expected behavior? In journeys, it works perfectly fine, but in campaigns, I consistently see the outdated profile data (it seems to rely on a profile snapshot).
How can this be handled if we need newer profile data in campaign as well.
Thanks,
Arpan

@arpan-garg Even in Journey, when the Read Audience activity is used, profiles are selected from the profile snapshot data, similar to what you see in Campaign. However, when the Unitary Event activity is used in Journey, the latest profile data can be utilized.

Hi @Anuhya-Y - Yes i noticed that for read audience initiated journey earlier.
Is this the expected behavior in campaign that you always get old data from the profile snapshot ? Any other way to fetch latest profile data via campaign?
Thanks,
Arpan

Hi @arpan-garg @Anuhya-Y ,
I just want to clarify, a profile always has the latest data. It's the audience which is depending on the profile snapshot but profile data will always show the latest data during the personalization.
One clarification also on streaming audience, if one of the field data is coming from a batch ingestion then the audience will evaluated in batch not streaming.
That being said, I believe your issue was due to a major outage on Adobe side (started on 1/8 and fixed)
issue number #202501080058 on https://status.adobe.com
Jan 9, 2025 5:51 PM (UTC-5)
Impact severity: Major
Impact scope: Some customers are impacted.
Services impacted: Audience Orchestration(Audience Runtime), Profile Interactive Segmentation, Profile Ingestion Service
Impact update: An update on this issue has been posted as follows -
A subset of Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) customers hosted in the Americas region may have experienced delays in batched journeys, which would have been executed using outdated profile data when utilizing the Orchestration Service. Customers may also have encountered failures in audience exports, resulting in stale profiles being used for batch journeys. The problem has been mitigated and all services have been restored. We are monitoring the situation closely to ensure services remain fully operational.

Hi @DavidKangni - That was my understanding as well. Profile data is also old when you are sending out an email via campaign , even if it got changed recently.
I raised a support ticket to check with Adobe and they confirmed this behavior. Unless the profile snapshot has the new values you will continue seeing old values in campaign + business event journeys using read audience.
Thanks,
Arpan
