AJO Dynamic Content Reporting Enhancement Request

Currently in AJO email designer, dynamic content can be applied to different sections of the email creative. So perhaps there are a few variations of the main image, the variations are based on segments (if Segment 1, display content A1; if Segment 2, display content A2, if Segment 3, display content A3, if Segment 4, display content A4). A few different variations of the body text based on other segments (if Segment 1 or 2, display content B1; if Segment 3 or 4, display Content B2).

So as a general ask is how do we report based on dynamic content breakdown; so ideally we want to compare at both the content level as well as the segment level. So how is Segment 1 doing as compared to Segment 2 and Segment 3 and Segment 4 in terms of opens/clicks. And how is Content A1/A2/A3/A4 doing from opens and clicks comparison perspective.

So we would like to see some kind of Segment or Selection Criteria (since it could also be attribute based) + Content version both be recorded as part of the contact history logs (feedback schema).

And ideally we would like to see this kind of reporting in the AJO email reporting interface without having to going to CJA. CJA can perhaps be helpful for more custom reporting if the out of box reporting through AJO email reporting interface is not sufficient.

Anybody has any comments/additional ideas about this? Thanks!

hi @MichelleYuLuo - this is definitely something we have considered, but there are challenges from both a use case and implementation perspective.

1) Use case - what is the particular reason for wanting reporting on this? Given the necessity of reporting would the use case be better served by creating an offer decision? If reporting is needed because of multi-lingual usage, would true multi-lingual support eliminate this need?

2) As conditions are supported across other channels such as Push Notifications (where it just appears as an if/then expression) - would we need reports in this case?

Thanks @Ivan_Mironchuk, I think the need is for both Segment level reporting and Content level reporting for one single creative/message. So if a particular variation of the content may be more attractive, it may generate more clicks than others; or a particular segment may get more traction, more opens and clicks rate. In general, the segment reporting is probably more important than the content level reporting. So in the Email reporting of AJO, after I select a message, if I can apply an additional segment filter (assuming segment is tracked in history), to see the performance breakdown.

Hi, we have the same use case as @MichelleYuLuo . We often use dynamic content in our emails for personalization using data attributes like gender, age or segment membership. When analyzing email response; open, click it would be very interesting to have it on dynamic content level. Did gender F open or click more than gender M...

How about adding some type of check box to select which dynamic content gave what response. So if we have a dynamic content using gender, like above, have one check box for F and one for M.

  • If selecting F then show response from everyone getting F
  • If selecting M then response from everyone getting M
  • If selecting F and M show responses from both
  • If non selected show responses from all

But what should we do if we use IF ELSE statement in them HTML - I guess it could be out of scope?
