Adobe Launch : Random Number Data Element Type

Hi,

I thought to use the Randon Number Data Element type but got "undefined" as the result. Any suggestion on how to use this data element?
I tried to change "storage duration" but it didn't work.

What you're encountering is totally unexpected. Just to confirm that you had:

  • saved your data element
  • added your data element to a library
  • added that library to your Development environment
  • built that library for your Development environment
  • opened a web page that loads that Development library
  • ... and then you ran _satellite.getVar("Test: Random number")

I know it sounds silly to ask this, but I want to ensure that your data element has been built properly.

Hi @yuhuisg , Thanks for jumping in, and it totally makes sense! Confirming that all the above steps were executed correctly.

That said, I'm now getting a random number after creating another new dev environment and assigning the required library/data element to it.

Strange though why did the previous dev environment not work.
