Bulk metadata import asset info

Hello everybody,

I am trying to update some asset information using bulk metadata import process and result is not as desired:

- Imported .csv file only modifies underlined fields at Basic tab.

Is it posible using bulk metadata import to change fields in Cards Covers tab as follows:

Attached .csv exported file output, I tried to modify values in some fields, importation process is successful but fields are not updated, is it possible that fields are protected and can not be modified?

Hello,

Is that only custom metadata fields are not being updated?

To enable metadata import on custom namespaces they should be registered first.

Hello,

In case you don't want to proceed with custom namespaces, you can wait for an official fix of issue CQ-4269445 - Import metadata without namespace. This will be backported to 6.4 via NPR-29425 which is going to be released in 6.4.5.0.

To your first question, yes, it only modifies those custom metadata fields, metadata at basic tab updates when .csv file is imported.

I do not have access to local host for registering custom namespaces as you told me.

Looking at html code and comparing two fields, one update and other that doesn't:

Hello,

In your last comment, you said: "it only modifies those custom metadata fields". Is that statement correct? Or is it typo?

For registering the namespace, you would need to login to crx/explorer of the same server i.e. host:port/crx/explorer. If you don't have access, please ask your administrator to run this test.

Download the output log of the job by clicking on "Result CSV Download" and see if there are any errors.

Sorry it was a typo I meant that those custom metadata fields are not updating, import job shows as successful, I have check Metadataimoprtoutput file from the job and you were right, that fields are not updating because Namespace prefix are not registered for the fields.

I will contact my admin to implement this.
