Very curious - regarding original content authored in the new system, is it now searchable, or can be indexed? What about accessibility?

Hi Mark,

All three viewers are accessible at launch. If the content is produced as HTML then the screen reading technology on each of the mobile platforms will be able to read the text of the articles as well.

We don't currently support search or indexing, although it's on our list of things to consider down the road.

Is text (authored in the new tools) rastered like in the previous version? (not HTML)

Text created in InDesign is converted to PDF articles. The only way to have accessible article text is to create HTML articles.

Thank Enns, That does answer our question. Honestly, that's unfortunate news. From our perspective, this was an extremely important feature missing from the previous version of DPS.

Is there a feature by feature comparison of the two systems yet? Having an improvements list would help us to convince leadership to move forward on this.

Are you referring to accessibility or to searchable text when you say "important feature missing from the previous version of DPS"?

Unrastered text which is searchable - yes.

Accessibility of text through the native DPS authoring tools (not HTML) would be a smart move too.

We're a state funded institution and everything we do needs to be accessible.

Thanks Enns. ;-)

Hi Neil,

Will content authored in a CMS, such as AEM, generate HTML articles?

Thanks,
