IN list view of asset browser, I want to add a new toolbar action which on clicking would update properties of the selected assets and display a dialog to user. Is there a sample on how to exactly add this action only in the assets view and not on all toolbars?

See this article - which includes a Ask the Community Experts session on how to modify the AEM UI:

https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/extending-aem-6-administrator-user.html

There is a note at the start of the article that includes the webinar.

There is also a GITHub sample site: https://github.com/Adobe-Marketing-Cloud/aem-admin-extension-customize-sites

Hi

Wishing you a very happy new year.

Adding some reference article for extending list view columns:

Link:- http://help-forums.adobe.com/content/adobeforums/en/experience-manager-forum/adobe-experience-manage...

// For adding a column to AEM 61 List View check this post

Link:- https://github.com/Adobe-Marketing-Cloud/aem-sites-extension-listview-columns

// Adding custom columns to Sites' list view

I hope this would help you.
