Adobe Experience Manager Assets

HiI am overlaying fileupload.js for touch ui to include custom code. I want to add a regex for exclude all characters in name except small alphabets and numbers .however it doesn't work. The ootb has list of characters mentioned in illegal char variable. Can someone help with a working regex.
