Hello there,
i am new to this community and to ACC.
We are currently in the implementation process for ACC. In my opinion it is necessary to enable the tracking feature in ACC to get the chance to track if someone openend an email or on which links he clicked.
Due to GDPR regulations and country-specific laws we are in a tough position, because it is not allowed to track the customer on customer level.
We only write to existing customers, where we have the permission for marketing communication.
Our problem we are facing now is: if the tracking in ACC is enabled we automatically get the information who openend the email or clicked on a link. But we are only allowed to know on a campaign level how much customers opened or clicked, but not who.
Only when we have received the consent it is allowed to know who in person it was.
So my idea was to create mails to our customers with a CTA in it. We enable the tracking in ACC but we block it through the cookie or the GTM.
After he clicks on the CTA he is linked on a landingpage where we ask for his permission to track him personally. (like a cookie banner)
If he gives us permission we "unblock" the tracking and receive the data on customer level, if he denies the permission we will keep the blocking of the tracking.
Is this way technically possible? What do we have to do?
What other options do we have to leave the tracking set in ACC but not receive the data until the customer has consented?
