Campaign for Analytics Reporting Time Delay

Avatar

Level 2

Dear all,

When sending Adobe Campaign email stats data to Analytics for reporting purposes, is there a time delay until when the data can be seen in Workspace?

We have send out an email today but the data (e.g. Sent, Open, etc.) isn't showing up after 8hrs.

Could anyone confirm?

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Roxie

Hi Roxie,

The data are sent daily to Analytics. When you send email campaign indicators via Adobe Campaign to the Adobe Experience Cloud using Adobe Analytics - Data connector. This workflow (Sending of indicators and campaign attributes) is triggered at 4am every day and it can take 24 hours for the data to be seen in Analytics workspace..

But you can install report builder (Analytics Excel add-on) if you want to make sure the data is already in Analytics DB.

Thanks,

David

Hi Roxie,

Have you gone through the documentation below?

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/campaign-classic/using/getting-started/connectors/adobe-anal...

One thing I'd suggest is confirming that all the web analytics technical workflows are functional.

Hi Craig,

Thank you for the link.

The workflow has been proven to work in past campaigns and the setting has not changed.

I suspect that there is a time delay in the AC->AA data connection.

Apparently for the specific email ID, metrics such as Sent and Opens are still zero, while metrics measured by AA (e.g. pageview) is non-zero as of now.

Could you confirm if the time lag exists and if so how long would it be up to?

Thanks in advance.

Hi David,

Thank you for the answer.

Could you confirm if 4am means the local timezone or some other time?

Also I see that occurrence for the specific email ID is non-zero, yet for Sent/Open metrics the value stays at zero.

Is there a reason why this is so.

Thank you very much again.

Hi Roxie,

4 am is the server time zone. It's normal because the Sent, Opens etc from Campaign are not synced yet while metrics from AA are in near real time.

Thing you can do is to refresh your workspace report or check with the report builder add-in as I said previously.

Other possible troubleshoots:

  • check sending indicators workflow log and see if you email (internal name) was sent.
  • check the email indicators if they are correctly updated. if not recompute the tracking statistics.

One possible reason can be that your email is not sent to analytics because sum of indicators is equal to zero (one criteria of the script to send data to Analytics)

Thanks,

David

This service is based on a very out of date Adobe Analytics (ex Omniture) service, the Omniture Datawarehouse and associated API.

As identified in the other posts, give up to 30 hrs, due to:

1. lag between your Sends, and when the 1x per day webAnalytics workflow runs on the Adobe Campaign marketing server.

2. Adobe Analytics processing time of the received data (usually 2-6 hrs)
