What is the math behind the Order Assists metric?

Using the "order assists" metric, I see negative numbers then "infinity." How is this metric to be used? What is the math behind this metric?

I never used Order Assists metric, but the definition says, no. of times a direct channel contributed the journey to a purchase. But not made a purchase. So simply, abandoned purchases from a direct channel.

Thanks @Krishna_Musku . So, this only applies to the direct channel? How about the other channels?

My bad, It's applied to any channel or source. Not only direct channel.
