Hello the community,

All is in the title but I really don't understand how is it possible.

I've too much trafic in referral and when I check my Last touch channel and I make a breakdown by Last touch channel detail I find a lot of www.google.com

For SEO (Natural Search) I find only Google

Is someone able to explain me why ?

It's the same thing with orders even if  Override Last-Touch Channel is set to no

Thanks a lot

Hi Benoit,

It's quite hard to answer a MKT Channell question because there are many things that might be causing the issue. What I would do if I was you is checking the marketing channel processing rule and the bucketing position of the two channels. Also, I would check if I'm using an eVar in these two channels (referral or SEO) and the expire after condition of the eVar. I already saw in some cases that users were using an eVar in MKT channels with the expiration of 30 days and it was messing with the processing rule of the marketing channel. If you're using eVar on MKT Channel processing rule remember that MKT Channel works on hit level.

If you can't find an answer, I would recommend contacting the Adobe team.

Hi Igorm,

My principal problem is Natural search. My rules for paid seems OK but not my natural search.

All the Natural seems being attribute to referral and I don't know why.

I'm using the rules Matches naturel search but it doesn't work.

It's the same thing for the orders. We have a lot a referrer from bank (with the 3D Secure protocol in France). I've add the domain in the internal list but it doesn't work.

If you have an idea

Best regards

And how is the position (bucketing position) of your channels? A standard practice is putting referral as one of the last channel in your list. If referral is above Natural search this might be one of the reasons

Igorm,

That's what I do.

Referral is my last level

The reason Referral is capturing a lot of Google is probably related to a configuration of your organic traffic. Your referral configuration is working as a organic traffic bucket. If a user search for your site on Google and clicks in a non-paid link and lands on your site, he matches all the criteria of the referral rule. Does your SEO rule is supposed to catch organic traffic?

Igorm,

I think it's because my paid detection configuration is not good.

I've changed it like this

and erase a lot of my rules to start again from 0

Wait and see

I think these two rules are fine in the Paid Search Detection Rule. I believe you should Audit your MKT Channel rules. As I said before, your referral is working as a organic search bucket. If SEO is not supposed to collect organic traffic, I would create another rule to collect them. I would name it Organic Search and I would put as "All" of the following are true . And the rule should be "Matches Natural Search Detection Rule". Have a read in this article, it should help you audit your marketing channel: https://theblog.adobe.com/refresher-on-adobe-analytics-mktg-channels-reports-part-iii/

Hi Igrom,

that's the point. SEO is an other name for Organic (or natural search) and it's configured just with "Matches Natural Search Detection Rule".

That's why I don't understand why my referral collect all the trafic.

This is my configuration :

Let's try the new configuration and wait
