Different segment dimensions for paid searches

Avatar

Level 5

While segmenting traffic from paid searches on our website I discovered that in segment manager there are 2 dimensions that seem to relate to the same thing, but the numbers slightly differ when applied in a report. What is the difference between dimension "Paid Search" and "Search engine - Paid"?

Hi Alev,

You can configure paid search in the Admin Console > Report Suites > Edit Settings > Paid Search Detection. Here is the document explaining the same - https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/reference/paid_search_detection.html

Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out.

The 'Paid Search' would include the traffic from all existing paid referrers but 'Search Engine- Paid' would include the paid links on only the search engine websites like google, yahoo etc

I hope this solves your query.

Thank you, but where do I configure the "Paid search"? I'd like to know what counts as paid referrer.
