Hi Team,

We have a registration and login functionalities on the site. Sometime people who filling out registration forgetting/not realizing that they already have an account tied up to their email address or they may mistakable reach the registration page and then navigate to Log In. So basically we are trying to figure out the differentiate on this experience from the customer. Therefore, it won’t skew our exact abandoned data from the existing customer.

What is the best method of capturing this from the user for the above scenario. Please let me know if any.

Thank you,

Jay.

If users attempt to create an account with an email address already assigned to one, do you capture that error message within analytics?  If so you could exclude visits with that error message and visits where users select 'log in' from the registration page to do your analysis.
